SAD: The Last Remaining Denny’s in San Francisco Forced to Close Because of Dine and Dashers

The last remaining Denny’s restaurant in San Francisco has closed its doors forever.

The restaurant owners claim that customers constantly ate and left the establishment without paying and that they got no support from the city. Denny’s now joins the ranks of dozens of companies that have pulled their retail outlets from the crime-ridden city.

The last Denny’s in Oakland, California closed their doors back in February, also because of crime.

This is what progressive governance looks like. This is what Kamala Harris and Walz want to bring to the rest of the country.

More here on Newsom's shit hole: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/08/sad-last-remaining-dennys-san-francisco-forced-close/

This is what Kamala will do to America.

There are some Big Boy locations in Cali. Maybe they adapted to local conditions with a rule of pay first then get the food. That may eventually be done everywhere.

Don't fret. They're are still plenty of terrible restaurants that serve dinner at 4pm.

Germany, post war when inflation was destroying their economy, did the same.

It didn't work.

Because you don't own one.

More like he couldn't afford to patronize one.
Or find one even with google maps.
Or figure out how to get into the parking lot even with Alexa's help.

One of the local Denny's was just torn down after more than a year being vacant.

It's stunning to read about how many fast-food outlets have been forced out of business by Newsom and comrades.

Because there are better food places that have better food and better prices.

Capitalism.
The fast food market in California is collapsing:

California Loses Nearly 10,000 Fast-Food Jobs After $20 Minimum Wage Signed Last Fall

Last September, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed California Assembly Bill 1287 into law, which includes a $20 per hour minimum wage for fast-food workers and a fast-food regulatory council which has the authority to raise the industry’s minimum wage annually. But between last fall and January, California fast-food restaurants cut about 9,500 jobs, representing a 1.3 percent change from September 2023.

Lol....yes, you don't like minimum wage

There are better and cheaper breakfast restaurants that aren't closing.

Perhaps chain restaurants are the issue here.

Minimum wage is a government mandated level for income. All businesses comply with it. You can argue about the amount, but you cannot argue with its existence. You seem to believe that someone can somehow avoid that reality.

Better and cheaper is an oxymoron.

I'm not arguing with it's existence. I'm discussing the price and quality of restaurant food. When someone offers better options for both, those that don't are put out of business.

There are 427,000 fast food workers in California. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.

The fast food industry super-scary press release "rounded up" the actual figure of 9,500 to "Nearly 10,000" fast food jobs.

9,500 fast food jobs lost out of 427,000 represents 0.022 of all fast food jobs in California.

Many, if not most, of the fast food workers were making on average $16 an hour, so they got a 25 percent raise. That's quite a windfall for the lowest quintile of wage earners. I can see why YOU in particular would have a problem with that.

1,300 of the layoffs above were Pizza Hut pizza delivery drivers (some were retained as restaurant workers). UberEats still delivers Pizza Hut.

I don't have a problem with the minimum raise wage hike.

The boomer response "but...but...ROBOTS" doesn't mean anything. The fast food business is rapidly evolving, with kiosks and ordering/paying using a mobile phone app. And fast food sales in general are sluggish, as many people no longer see the value in fast food meals. Fast food as a whole will learn to adapt or die. That's the invisible hand of the market at work.

Of course, some, like you, will inevitably be left behind.

This is what Kamala will do to America.
And they complain that their neighborhoods are becoming Food Deserts.
