It's too little, too late.

I think the State needs to learn a lesson. One that Barrett gave them bu which went unheeded because there were other vendors. The lesson is; STOP dealing with the State of California when they're trying to put you out of business.

In this case, the oil companies need to say they're not going to sell the State ANY gas/oil/fuel. Period. This includes cash sales at the corner station. Good luck driving all those cop cars, fire engines, and so on without any gas.

Too little too late? You mean about protecting the environment against climate change?

Records shatter across San Francisco Bay Area as heat wave hits day 8

https://www.sfgate.com/weather/article/sf-surpasses-90-degrees-daily-october-heat-wave-19821886.php

San Francisco’s downtown reached 97 degrees, surpassing the previous Oct. 6 record of 94 set in 1992, according to the National Weather Service. It was the fourth day this month that the temperature downtown was in the 90s.

Too bad the Earth and its inhabitants get in the way of billionaires’ profits. We really need to change the US Constitution to protect profits from the needs of humanity and future generations. After all, if the rich aren’t protected they’ll just take their money somewhere else.

I'll believe it when I See it. Everybody has been fleeing CA for twenty years with very few managing to leave.

If you had a multi fucking million dollar home in retirement or thinking of retirement wouldn’t you sell out to buy 10 homes elsewhere ?

Go worry about your own shit

Please don’t come to California. You couldn’t afford it!

Growing States
  • Florida, Texas, Utah, and South Carolina have experienced some of the strongest population growth.

  • Idaho: has also seen significant population increases.

  • Massachusetts, Iowa, New Jersey, and Illinois also had strong annual growth rates between July 2023 and July 2024.
Shrinking States
  • New York, California, Illinois, West Virginia, and Louisiana are among the states that lost residents between July 2023 and July 2024.

  • Hawaii: also saw a population decrease during this period.

  • However, the pace of decline slowed for many of these states compared to the previous year.

No gas, no problem. They can ride their solar powered high speed rail.

Actually, you can still invest in a solar power system that will fuel a car for cheaper than buying gasoline.

But that doesn’t fit your delusions, so keep fucking yourself and future generations. 😉

That statement alone shows how little you understand about the US economy. Individuals and corporations own those businesses, not the state.
my comment was more of a geography one than ownership. more tech companies are based in CA so when you take stuff like Facebook, Google, Apple ... those companies have the revenue of several small states

Except the people that make movies. :)

Yeah they have been doing a pretty good job of getting out but they've been trying to get out since at least the 90s. Technology is finally getting to a point where they are less tethered to any location.

Yeah, that’s actually one of the biggest problems CA has : wealth disparity.

Those tech companies, the jobs, and the ever growing property values, especially in areas where those companies set up shop, have put an enormous upward pressure on housing prices and the cost of living. So many people are being priced out of homeownership - the largest builder of inter generational wealth - that more services are required for the social safety nets.

It’s something everyone world wide should learn from. Commoditization of real estate prices out large portions of the population who then become a burden on society.

Since taxation of wealth is seen as such a political third rail, what are the practical conservative suggestions for how to handle the growing number of homeless citizens?

Lots of CA residents leave when they realize they can sell their two bedroom homes for something much larger with a smaller tax basis in another state.

Dan (and other MAGAts on the PB) is either a troll or a sociopath: Neither is treatable (willing or able to be persuaded by truth / facts).

They inevitably die sociopaths (See also: Charlie Kirk, and, eventually, DonOld Trump, etc).

Anyway…

😑

We. Told. Them. So.
