Caitlan Clark

3-9 and 12 points in the first half…

Hardly ā€œamazingā€ or ā€œUnbelievable!ā€.

CC got a triple double today and they gave the Sky a beatdown.

And notice a difference between WNBA tv coverage last year to this season. Lots more games on network, espn, prime, ion, etc now than before. Another Caitlin Clark bump? Angel’s gonna be even more jealous

Clark drew a flagrant 1 for pushing Reese to the ground on an ā€œeasy layup denialā€.

Reese wanted to punch Clark in the face.

That drama is real.

How to tell us you know nothing of the gameā€¦šŸ™„

You’re basing this off one half! I know you’re just trying to be a contrarian (you’ve failed) but maybe look at the whole body of her work from college to professional.

I was responding to the OP’s nonsense.

Clark has a decent game, but she really benefited from the ultimate green light in college at Iowa, and now benefits from it in the NBA, at Indiana. Clark’s handle is marginal at best, she doesn’t have outstanding speed, and she can get overpowered on defense, leading her to slap at the ball (the box score credited Clark with 4 blocks at one point, when every one of them was her swiping down on the ball as the offensive player was going up for a layup / bunny) and push her opponents (see: the flagrant 1).

šŸ˜‘

Clark is basically the WNBA version of Larry Bird / John Stockton (hardly faint praise), but she sure as hell ain’t the Jordan, Lebron, or Kobe of the WNBA.

Is American womens basketball held back by….or increasing in popularity because of Trump’s No Penis Rule?

You actually bring up a good point. Who IS the WNBA version of Bird/Jordan? I can name a handful of players but I’ll freely admit I knew them more for their college exploits than their professional. Tirasi, Sue Bird, Parker just to name a few. I would or could argue Clark IS that version of greatness.

You can nit-pick her game and that’s fair. All great players have an Achilles Heel in some aspect of their game especially coming into the league. Maybe not Bird or Lebran but you get my point. Jordan was looked at as ā€œsoftā€ even though the rest of his game was complete. Clark is only on her second season. I’m sure she knows where she falls short.

It could go the opposite direction also. She could fall into WNBA anonymity. Like the others I mentioned above, they were all great players that sort of faded into the collective consciousness. As of right now, Clark is moving the needle and more eyes are watching the WNBA than ever before.

Her greatness? Only time will tell.
