I'm interested in buying some, but totally confused by what I have encountered as far as information about them is concerned. I found this website that had a bunch of information, but I still don't really know which is better, ben wa, duotone, or kegel. I mean there is the size factor which apparently goes up respectively (according to this website), but then theres also the factor of having the vibrations from the balls with balls in the center and then the surface which can range from glass, metal, to silicone. Also, when searching for a place to buy them, my search got mixed with medicine balls. Which are about the same size. Could these be substituted?

Can't offer any great advice except g-strings and short skirts can lead to embarrassing moments on the dance floor. So wear something a little more secure...

Had a couple of partners use simple duotone Ben Wa Balls on a few occasions while going out dancing. Their aim was for pleasure not muscle development. As such they thought it a novelty (except for that moment) ...but the novelty wore off... now the remote controlled vibrating butterfly got a lot more use... thought the remote control aspect was pointless as she glared at me "turn it on... leave it on... and turn it up full power!" We carried extra batteries after that :)

Personally, I'd go with something like these. You definitely DO want a safe, hygienic material like medical-grade silicone, glass or stainless steel. I don't know how hard the glass and stainless are to keep in, though - I'd imagine they'd be far more slippery than silicone.

What you don't want is any kind of exposed string/cord, allergenic metal, or crappy/porous material that could irritate you or harbor bacteria.

The only medicine balls I know of are the heavy, fairly large ones used for physical exercise. If you look at this history of Ben Wa balls, you'll see they've been used for medicinal purposes (like strengthening the pelvic floor to help urinary incontinence), but I suspect ordering "medicine balls" will get you something that's not anything like ben wa/love/smart balls.

Hahah as soon as I wrote it in the post I knew I should have clarified because I remember seeing the ones the size of basketballs at the athletic stores. I meant the smaller ones that are weighted that people spin in their hands. They are supposed to hit certain pressure points and calm the user. They look about the same size and when they came in a search for ben wa I thought maybe they could be interchangeable. I really don't see why not, they are also made of metal or glass, just have to make sure it is not something harmful since it is made to be touched not inserted into the body.

I was also wondering about the difference between those with the cord connecting them like the link you shared and those without. I would be nervous of something getting stuck, though I've never had a problem with anything like that before, I can push toys out so I figured it would be similar. Uhmm TMI, but I would like to know opinions of those who have used both free balls and those connected.

Ive tried them, Mine were stainless steel marble sized ones. They didn't give me any pleasure and were a bitch to keep in
