They've canceled the local butter tart festival. 😪😪

I took the canceled concerts, the canceled rib fest, and the cancelation of the Canadian National Exhibition (The Ex) but now, truly gutted by our butter tart festival and competition being nixed due to covid.

For those who don't know, a butter tart is a melty, drippy, sugary sweet little dream held together by pastry, and it's like a Canadian treasure.

I read that as Butter fart and figured Harry's Holler was hurtin' for entertainment.

Oktoberfest should have started today.
First time it's been cancelled since 1949.
20th time it's been cancelled since the early 1800s.
I blame Trump.

butters is not a tart, you cad! she may like a good time now and then but that doesn't mean you should call her names!

One gets the impression he was weaned on curdled breast milk.

One gets the impression that he completely gets under your aged and wrinkly skin...

EVERY single time and lives rent free in your tiny brain.

If you charged him and bot some rent, you might have one or two more seasons of shuffleboard.

I was thinking this was some sort of adult event..I would have really been upset.

What is the world coming too

We can't even have a pastry thread that doesn't devolve into a Rob/Que pissing contest.

If I stick a giant butter tart in each of their gobs, perhaps that will give them another focus?

Why does his long history of pissing on everyone who has ever wounded his fragile ego get characterized as a pissing "match?" I didn't mention him at all.

The only thing that changes over tme on the general board are who the chosen target of his pissing. You're a bit behind. Though retain an unpaid sublet in his sociopatic mind, he spends the bulk of his time these days hurling racial slurs and insulting the valorous military service of Botany than he does making degenerate remarks about my children.

Not that I am complaining, mind you..

Not sure if I've ever had a butter tart. Let me go google and I'll get back to you.

Edited to add:
Google-fu complete. Never had one. Mildly amused at how butter tart aficionados seem to be split 50-50 on "the raisin issue".

It's a personal preference. I'm an equal opportunity tart lover, so enjoy both plain, and those adulterated by dried fruit.

And this, my darling, is why I fucked off from Lit for two years. The name calling, finger pointing, denigrating, incessant one-upmanship.

It's all so very B-O-R-I-N-G.

I feel like I should put on my best shiny black Dominatrix boots and soundly spank the lot of you, before making you all stand in the corner.

Sometimes, there are even nuts...

I would like a Butter Tart. They are insanely sweet though.

Same with Sugar Pie.

And everything dipped and dunked in Maple Syrup.

Gives me a sugar headache, just thinking about it

*Come to think of it, all cabanes a sucre were closed this past Spring, as Covid struck

I must have led a sheltered life. Yesterday, I learn about "butter tarts" and today I find out that a "sugar pie" is actually a thing, not just a Four Tops song title.
