Off-brand hand sanitiser

“From the information that we received, approximately one
dozen of the bottles were sold to customers (on Monday),”
Devoe said, adding that officers “immediately seized the
remaining bottles.”

“We are sitting in the ER with chemical burns due to hand sanitizer
loaded with ammonia"

This was sold to a bunch of kids and they innocently sprayed it
and now we are here with (my son) in major pain.”

Gehm posted a label from the bottle, showing it includes
ingredients like octyl decyl dimethyl ammonium chloride
and dioctyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, which can cause
severe skin burns, according to several material safety data
guidelines.

Jim Bakker's troubles continue to mount, as Missouri
Attorney General Eric Schmitt has now filed suit against
Bakker for claiming the silver solution he sells can protect

Conspiracy theorist and InfoWars founder Alex Jones

The radio host later on Tuesday boasted on his show that his supplements,
which he bills as “great antivirals,” are a sure “stopgap” to the novel COVID-19
coronavirus. (Jones’s claims are unsubstantiated, and the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention has stated, “There is no specific antiviral treatment
recommended for COVID-19.”)

Justice Dept. brings first fraud case stemming from coronavirus crisis

March 22, 2020

“The website falsely claims that the World Health Organization is giving away free vaccine kits and that individuals who visit the website can order such a kit by paying $4.95 for shipping,” the Justice Department wrote. “The World Health Organization is not offering free ‘vaccine kits’ for COVID-19. Indeed, there exists no known vaccine that is effective against COVID-19.”

It’s been a week since televangelist Jim Bakker was threatened, then sued, over his promotion of “Silver Solution” that one of his guests claimed could kill coronavirus within 12 hours. Bakker himself said the product was a “miracle” drug that cured practically everything.

You knew he would come back with something new. I just didn’t expect the turnaround to occur so quickly.

His latest product is “medicinal seed” which can grow to become a cure for… anything. (*Wink wink nudge nudge*)

Jim Bakker is now selling "medicinal seed" bundles from which you can grow plants to "make your own medicine." pic.twitter.com/nAWC5rh2Az

While a guest claims it can be good for patients with “diabetes or high blood sugar,” Bakker says the eventual plant allows you to “make your own medicine.”

None of them say it’ll cure coronavirus, but the implication is obvious.

And it’s all for the low, low cost of $99!

Justice Department orders first shutdown of website over coronavirus fraud

The US Department of Justice announced Sunday it had shut down a website claiming to sell a coronavirus vaccine, in its first act of federal enforcement against fraud in connection with the pandemic.

Lawsuits had been filed against the site coronavirusmedicalkit.com, which claimed to sell vaccines for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, when in fact there is no such vaccine, the Justice Department said in a statement.

“Due to the recent outbreak for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) the World Health Organization is giving away vaccine kits. Just pay $4.95 for shipping,” read a statement on the homepage.

It was followed by a place to leave bank account information to pay shipping fees.

The Justice Department did not specify how many people fell victim to the scam, but the investigation is ongoing to identify who is behind the fraud and how much money was stolen.

The man who hoarded 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer did nothing wrong ― and that’s the problem

Matt Colvin got thoroughly roasted on the internet this past weekend. Twitter was strewn with quote-tweets denouncing the high immorality of a man stockpiling 17,700 bottles of hand sanitizer, intending to sell it at a big markup on ebay and Amazon.

Just a cheap Trumpster.

Jim Bakker to Court: Selling a Fake COVID Cure is Part of My “Religious Freedom”

May 4, 2020

Back in March, Bakker was called out by the state of New York, as well as the U.S. Food
and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission, for selling a “Silver Solution”
that his show falsely claimed cured coronavirus.

Look! There’s video from mid-February!

The Jim Bakker Show is suggesting that the silver solution it sells can kill
the coronavirus within 12 hours.

— Right Wing Watch (@RightWingWatch) February 12, 2020

Missouri’s Attorney General Eric Schmitt also sued Bakker’s ministry in March
for lying about the effectiveness of “Silver Solution” as a “treatment for 2019
novel coronavirus (COVID-19).”

The official response to the lawsuit is even more bonkers.

It claims suing Bakker for selling a product (even though he was making a false claim!)
is actually a violation of church/state separation because Bakker was simply practicing
his faith.

By the logic of Bakker’s legal team, he could sell anything he wants, promote it
as a cure for literally any disease, then shield himself from responsibility by saying
he was just living out his faith. People could die, or they could delude themselves
into thinking they’re cured when they’re not, and Bakker doesn’t believe he should
be held accountable for any of it.

California put a law on the books, that made it against the law to provide patients
with lies and mis-information- the statement was that patients had a right to have
good information that they could trust, to make good decisions for themselves.

Offices run by anti-abortion volunteers, pretending to be medical clinics, suddenly
had a problem, if they were not allowed to lie.

Supreme Court says crisis pregnancy centers do not have to provide women abortion information

June 26, 2018

The California legislature said it was moved to act because some centers trick women

But the centers said the law violates their constitutional rights by forcing them to deliver
a message that is antithetical to their mission of encouraging women to continue
their pregnancies.

The California law at issue requires centers offering some medical services, such as
ultrasound exams, to meet specific requirements and be licensed. They also must
display or relay to a woman the state’s message:

“California has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access
to comprehensive family planning services (including all FDA-approved methods
of contraception), prenatal care, and abortion for eligible women. To determine
whether you qualify, contact the county social services office.

A clinic that does not offer medical services is required to post a sign and include
in advertisements that it is “not licensed as a medical facility by the State of California
and has no licensed medical provider who provides or directly supervises the provision
of services.”

Supreme Court Sides With California Anti-Abortion Pregnancy Centers

June 28, 2018

The U.S. Supreme Court has reversed a lower court decision upholding a California
law requiring anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers to more fully disclose what they
are.

The case pitted the right to know against the right of free speech. On one side
are self-identified "crisis pregnancy centers" that seek to prevent abortions and
on the other side is the state of California, which enacted a 2015 law to ensure
that these centers do not intentionally or unintentionally mislead the women
who walk through their doors.

The case began in 2015 when California passed a law known as the Reproductive
FACT Act.

(It stands for Freedom, Accountability, Comprehensive Care and Transparency.)

The FACT Act requires unlicensed crisis pregnancy centers to post a sign or
otherwise disclose to their clients in writing that the center is not a licensed
medical facility and has no licensed medical provider who supervises the
provision of services. The disclosure requirement extends to advertising,

which anti-abortion pregnancy centers objected to as an attempt to
"drown out" their message.

Put your health and future into the hands of anti-abortion fanatics,
and not a doctor, or even a nurse is present, in the unlicensed "office."
