to be introduced to help solve the Palestinian/Israeli situation and bring peace to the Middle East.

All he's said so far is that Palestine has to give up its terrorist activities. Nothing at all about Israel giving up its own aggression...

Three others have worked on the "Roadmap of Peace", Russia, the European Union and the UN. But they differ with America about Palestinian terrorism. They say that it would mean Israel would not have to make a move until Palestine agrees to give up its only form of retalliation...

A recent pole I saw said that 40% of Palestinians wanted a state, 58% wanted a Palestine state with no Israel. Food for thought.

Bush has now said...

that Israeli settlement activities in the Occupied Territories must cease...

Well, at least that's something.

I've maintained all along that the Palestinians should have a state, but not at the destruction of Israel. Can we honestly expect these two to live along side each other in peace...? Would love to see it happen, but have my doubts.

Yes, they just need to put up a 30-foot high, 3-foot thick wall made of Lexan.

Blair has just made his statement...

on the Roadmap.

One of his points was that although Iraq is the specific target at the moment many Middle East countries in particular and others in general have asked why there has been no evenhandedness in the US and UK. Why no move like the Roadmap has been made before.

Most journalists and commentators seem sceptical about the timing and one mentioned that "wasn't the Roadmap too little, too late"...

Blair refused pointblank to answer any questions on Iraq. Just kept the topic to the Roadmap.

Or relocate the whole UN to the DMZ.

Both good ideas!

The "Roadmap" is just another Bush flirtation outside of his own agenda...

The Israelis are questioning the 'settlements' issue, the Palestinians are questioning the implementation of it and the rest of us are questioning the motive behind its publication.

After months of saying he would publish after the war in Iraq, he's now decided to go ahead. If he thinks that's going to swing the Arab countries behind him and pursuade Israel not to retaliate when the Scuds start falling, he hasn't learnt much has he?

Pity. I thought he was showing some improvement...
