It's all over the papers this morning!

Bush loses referendum on war!

The House is clearly in play and the table is set for the conquest of the Senate in '06. It's all over but the shouting! This portends a Democrat landslide!

Except, the election was never a topic of conversation here on Lit. You think that such an important referendum would have been the subject of lengthy and heated disscussion, like the Plame case...

Meanwhile, the GOP is calling for the investigation of new CIA leaks about secret prisons (which much like flushed Korans or the "Scooter Leak" has yet to be proven as fact), but that seems to be getting about as much attention as the mountain-sea change election which just occured right under my nose!

Those wascawwy, sneaky, underhanded Demwocwats!

;) ;)

CIA is starting a criminal investigation about the prison leak.

Someone has to fry, not for having secret prisons, but for telling the press.

Morn' Cap'n

Virginia voters elected to continue raising taxes - Tim Kaine Governor (D)
But to attempt to keep the tax increases low -- W.T. Bolling - Lt. Governor (R)
chose a 'pub for attorney General.

Both the Lt Gov and AG races may be subject to recounts (1% law)

I voted for Russ Potts (I) - who was actually by far the most reasonable of the candidates and has the best record of voting for balanced growth and preservation of the states tradition.

Kaine's predecessor (Mark Warner (D) spent his 4 years basically raising every tax in Virginia, Kaine promises to continue "progress" - I hate that word from politicians, it reminds me of high school and the Soviet propaganda posters.

Anyway no surprises here except for the school bond being voted down in one local county.

i'm only here to look at kbate's arse.

morning, fatty

The CIA has been at war with Bush for some time now which is why Joe Wilson bears some scutiny and suddenly, he's getting it.

Also, some reporters have been sandbagging Democrat leaders with their 2002 quotes about Saddam and WMD's and the replies are very entertaining indeed!!!

:D :D :D

Awwww, a pwe-emptive stwike from Dances-With-Falsehoods.

The same person who over and over brays about how the United States is lurching ever further to the right.

But...but....but....reality has a way of splashing cold water on him from time to time.

2 Governorships stayed comfortably in Democratic hands (including New Jersey...where 57% of the voters are registered independent) and the bellweather race was the Democratic mayor of St Paul Minn (the incumbent Democrat urged everyone to vote for Bush last year)...he lost something like 64-36.

But to hear AJ talk, it's all part of Bush's master plan! All is Well! ALL IS WELL!

:nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

That ain't workin', that's the way you do it,
Let me tell you those guys ain't dumb!
Maybe get a blister on your little finger,
Maybe get a blister on your thumb...

Did the government come out and verify that we have secret prisons?

Because if not, then what was leaked?

a democratic opponent of the death penalty won in [incredulous voice] virginia [/incredulous voice] despite the fact bush stumped for the republican candidate?

*chortles

Sometimes the Republicans simply run a bad candidate.

Happened in KANSAS too. Got us a female, carpet-bagging Democrat for Govenor...

Hell, Lawrence/Topeka and the People's Republic of Wyandotte County can even eek out a Democrat Senator from time to time.

The main point is about the press's reporting and possible over-inflation of the depth and scope of the "victory" for their party...

The republican Attorney General and Lt. Governor make up for that.

Kaine won by promising government financed pre-school for 4 year olds. A give away program.
