So, what do we have here - the obvious.....

The evidence regarding GWB's infamous verbal fauxpas are many and very well documented. He frequently says dumb things - this is clear.

And now his daughter, age 19 (not 12, not 14 or 16)- age 19 - gets caught trying to pass a fake ID, with photo of some other woman on it - in an attempt to consume an illegal beverage.

Let's get this straight - she just got in trouble for this and numerous times too. She's a public figure who's had her photo plastered in print all over the world. And she's sitting in a public place with her sister - also of course very well known - in her home state...... in her home state..... where she and her sister are probably the most recognized young persons in that state - and she tries to pass a fake ID.

Hmmmmmmmmm?

Let's see here - her dad says dumb stuff and she does dumb stuff.

Hmmmmmmmmm?

Yep - dumbness most definitely runs in that Bush family. A bunch of dummies those Bush people. Moron's.

It's so clear.

Doubly old news, Sparky.

See the "Like father, Like daughter" thread.

Sorry havn't been here much lately......

Bet my was better written and contains mor humor though.

Better written? Doubtful. I am the author of the original thread. :) Though you do have dibs on the quirky humor bit.

I heard that the White House issued a statement (how does a house talk?) saying that it would not be appropriate to repeat what the President had said about this mess to his 'nineteen year-old child".

Well, I don't wanna know what he said cause is none a my business. But 'child"?

Let's see, she can vote, she can fight in a war, she can fuck, she can get married and pregnant to boot. Seems to me that children shouldn't be doing any a those things?

So if she's not a child is it possible she's actually responsible for her own fuck ups? Ok, she's white, she's rich, her daddy is President. Nope. Not responsible. They'll never put her ass in a cell as part a the war on drugs.

Maybe she will haff to write on the chalk board a hundred times - "Just Say No".

It doesn't matter to me. I think that they're hot looking and I wouldn't mind invading their bush.

My boys (ages 17, 18 & 20) will always be my "children". Even when they become 27, 28 & 30, they will still be by children.

Doesn't it seem strange that at 19 they can do all of those things and we won't let them drink?

Actually, they never put ANYONE in jail for attempting to use a fake I.D.. In fact, she would not have been arrested if she weren't the President's daughter. If they incarcerated the Bush girls for this, it would be persecution specifically because they are the Presidents daughters.

Maybe she will haff to write on the chalk board a hundred times - "Just Say No".

Blame your buddy Ronald Reagan, who in 1986 passed a law that made it so any state that didn't up their drinking age to 21 would not receive certain funding.

Funny how conservatives supported upping the age until the Jenna Bush incident. Guess laws should only apply to non-republicans.

My god,
we are like moths to the flame.
CRITICIZE a child for mistakes? When I think of the mistake I made at their age (hard drugs, R&R, etc.) and that all kids do, it is just part of growing up. This should not even be a story.

Hell, if it were known that I, or many of you, were contributors to a porn site

IT WOULD END OUR LIVES AND CAREERS.

I am not christian, but the first stone thing comes to mind ;)

That's true, well not my life or career but I see what you mean. Still that's because we, like Jenna Bush, are adults. We make adult decisions and I would still like to know how a country that sentences 14 year olds as adults can call a 19 year old a "kid" who should be treated as such.

Of course people in the Bush clan get to have youthful indiscretions well into their late 20's

This morning on the Rush Limbaugh radio program said they said that Jenna Bush is an adult and can pay taxes and fight in a war, but can't drink. So she is like ROSA PARKS who refused to move to the "colored" section of the bus and started the civil rights movement. She is starting a movement for the 19 year old's rights to drink. This is like Rosa Parks defying a law that is not right. This guy is sick.

They will put any spin to avoid the real issue. Anyone who will equate Jenna Bush's right to have her margarita with salt or no salt to the courage and strength that it took Rosa Parks to stand up to the inhumanity facing all Black Americans is a moron and clearly a thoughtless individual!

The message here (besides "We're hypocrites!" since that's included by default in EVERY GOP argument) is that Republicans feel obeying the law is optional. Yup, any law they don't like can and should be broken whenever they please, just to prove a point and get their way. But if anyone ELSE does that, of course, well, that's what we need bigger and stronger prisons for - especially if they're black, poor, not a Republican's kid, or all three combined.

What a marvelous statement coming from the "law and order" crowd that wants to outlaw abortion to make criminals out of women, prevent federal funds from going to kids who've used drugs, and now pass a regulation preventing politicans from switching political party in mid-term. They expect everyone to follow the laws they like but then turn around and insinuate they're not bound to any rules themselves.

You know, I got busted at the age of 20 for a fake ID, same as Jenna, and so I know it's not the biggest crime of the century. It doesn't make her a monster nor does it really reflect poorly on George and Laura, other than perhaps indicating they're a bit lax in keeping an eye on her. I didn't expect the Repubs to criticize Jenna for her behavior (although they would have howled for months upon months if it was a Democrat's kid). However, it amazes even me that they've tried to turn her into some sort of trailblazing hero. Are all the kids who got caught doing illegal stuff over the years heroes as well? What about the ones caught smoking dope - are they civil rights activists as well? Of course not; the GOP LOVES the war on drugs.

There truly is no end to the revisionism and selfish bias from this failed excuse for a party. We'll only see more of this stuff in the months ahead; I guarantee you that.

This is awful of me, but I'm secretly hoping that Jenna gets charged with something for this incident. Then, under the Three Strikes law that her dad pushed, she'll be facing a mandatory six months in jail the next time she's caught. The irony would be delicious.

It's so weird...I never thought I'd see conservatives promoting underage drinking. I'm just hoping that Jenna & Barbara get busted for pot - then maybe we can get that medical marijuana ban overturned. Imagine Limbaugh spouting off on legalizing pot! And just think of how good it'd be for the pro-choice movement if either of them decided they wanted an abortion...these two girls could be the best thing for us Progressives...

Maybe Jenna will get the death penalty!!! And then we can go after grandma Bush for cheating at bingo. They are going to pay for what they did to Bill Clinton, Superstar!

Everytime we look at you we don't understand,
Why we let those things you did get so out of hand.
You'd have managed better if you've been conservative.
Why did you choose such a backward state in a country where you live?

If you would've come clean you wouldn't had screwed the whole nation.
Arkansas in '92 had no mass communications.
Don't you get me wrong - Don't you get me wrong.
I only want to know - I only want to know!

Bill Clinton - Bill Clinton,
What have you done? Have you inhaled today?
Bill Clinton - Superstar,
Who'd ever guess that you get this far?

Tell us what you think about your staff at the top?
Who except Hillary thinks you're the cream of the crop?
Nixon was he where it's at - do you plan to meet his end?
Do you really move mountains - or is that just CNN?
Did you mean to get re-elected - was that a mistake or
Did you know forty-nine percent would be the record-breaker?

Don't you get me wrong,
Don't you get me wrong!
I only want to know,
I only want to know!!!

Bill Clinton - Bill Clinton,
What have you done? What have you inhaled today?
Bill Clinton - Superstar,
Do you think you're what you say you are?

Rush Limbaugh

You just know that if this had happened to Chelsea Clinton than Rush would be blaming it on her parents. He wouldn't be calling her a modern day Rosa Parks

Damn hyporcryte.
