My, my, the Repubs just got over that big flap with Trent "I'm not a racist scumbag! I'm not! I'm not! I'm not!" Lott, and here we go again. Bush just came out strongly against Michigan's affirmative action program, deciding to intervene in the pending lawsuit before the Supreme Court. This will really make it difficult to fool anyone into believing the Republicans aren't racists. Why don't they just come clean, and rename themselves the Racist Party? At least then they wouldn't be hypocrites also: just racist, sexist, homophobic pigs! Of course, Bush paid shallow, obviously insincere lip service to "diversity," but he's clearly doing this to please his racist base. He claims he's against Michigan's affirmative action program because it gives underserved rewards based on race. Of course, he has no problem with rich white men like himself receiving undeserved rewards based upon their race and class. It only when they favor blacks he has a problem with it. His feigned moral outrage over affirmative action is especially amusing, considering he owes his Presidency in large part to massive disenfranchisement of African-American voters in Florida by his brother Jeb. What monumental effrontery and audacious hypocrisy on his part, literally breath-taking in its epic scope!

I became aware of Muff's experience and wrote her to let her know how badly I felt about our arguments and her reaction to my one joke BDSM scene post in light of having learned of her experience.

As I told her at the time, I didn't read the details of her post...I scanned it and got out of the thread right away when I realized what I'd seen.

The others you have named... I wasn't aware of their personal revelations at the times I responded to their attacks against me, and in fact until you said it here I was completely unaware of most of their histories in this regard.

Whereas you have named them as rape victims after the threads have (you say) been taken down.

Your act strikes me as highly improper.

But that sort of thing likely doesn't cross your mind in your blind self-serving attack on me.

A Right Wing Government purposely keeps a pool of unemployed to fill job vacancies that may arise and that haven't been factored into any forecast. It's the way they operate...

There is nothing racist in believing people should be judged on their abilities, not the color of their skin. I think I could make a case for those who believe the opposite.

I know plenty about the social (engineering) welfare programs I listed. Public housing as a rule devolves into a crime-infested slum miles from any meaningful job opportunities. Many of those public housing tracts you seem fond of have been destroyed at government expense.
Generations of welfare-dependent families, and the odd notion you could reward women for having children out of wedlock by giving them more money, was nothing but a disaster. Weaning people off welfare and putting them to work (make them get jobs) has been a great success story here in the U.S. How many capable people are "on the dole" in England, and do you enjoy paying for their lack of ambition.
As for a government policy of having a "pool of unemployed," that notion is laughable and doesn't merit a response, but I'll offer one anyone. What prosperous country has ever enjoyed 100 percent employment?

Sorry, but the history of public housing in the U.S. was a byproduct of LBJ's "Great Society." Lyndon Baines Johnson was a Democrat, both houses of Congress were controlled by Democrats, and the public housing boondoggle was launched in the U.S.
As for "being Right Wing," your argument totally falls apart there if you equate being right wing with being conservative. A conservative never would have agreed to spending taxpayer money on public housing, knowing instinctively that the money would just be flushed down the toilet.
