Watching his ultra calm composure during his TV address, hearing that he went for a quiet dinner with the First Lady after ordering the first strike last night and then went early to bed gives the impression that he's a man divorced from reality...

A man who's totally round the bend, a man who has no conscious whatsoever, a man driven by God...

And that's dangerous.

Blair on the other hand on TV tonight looks like a man who hasn't slept for a week, a man driven by anxiety, a man who has deeply mixed feelings about what he's helped put in motion a man who wishes he was somewhere else...

And that's normal.

i think you mean 'conscience', unless he's permanently asleep all the time :D

Which could also be true

I like Bush's persona. And he's going to Camp David this weekend.

That's because Blair may actually have someone find out how corrupt he really is.

hello ppman

I can't see inside his head, but I think it's just a difference in their methods.

Bush was up at 4:30 this morning. He was in a meeting with Rice, Cheney and others before 6:00 am. I think Bush believes the country needs him to show that he's in control.

Nothing sinister, just different people.

People in general like to see that someone is In Charge and is Doing Something. Now to people who don't happen to like Bush, like me, this looks creepy as hell. However, he's not playing to me, he's playing to the people who actually voted for him and agree with him, and at the same time people who still aren't sure are supposed to be comforted by his cooler demeanor.

Translation: "I don't like Bush and am desperate to find a reason to convince others without sounding like a complete wanker."

Bush scares the bejeezus outta me too, p p man! Stupid people are scary anyway but in the oval office? Gimme a break! The guy has made the world a more dangerous place...He is turning our republic into an empire and it will fall, just as Rome did...shit happens when you get too damn big for your britches and try to strong arm the world into so-called democracy. Christ! We didn't even vote him in! Some democracy, eh? Christ! Now you've got me started!

When 3rd world countries, like those in Africa, had maniacs and their henchmen running around villages using machetes on people, hacking them to pieces, what did we do? Not a fucking thing...and why? Because there was nothing in it for us! If they had been oil-rich countries like Iraq, we'd a been right there fighting for their rights. What a bunch of crap this is!

Dropping bombs for peace is like fucking for virginity.

Oh yeah, I'm scared shitless too. And anyone who isn't is living in a dream world.

You don't need to convince ME! I'm scared by the fact that Bush Jr., as Saddam calls him, doesn't even LOOK frightening! I mean, forget his demeanor while declaring war, who would be afraid of a face like that?!

No wonder Saddam's being so fucking smug...

What's wrong with wanting to spend quiet time with you wife after such a huge decision? I would want my family close to me too.

I think you used that tag line for a thread title before pp. Now how will we be able to tell one from the other? :D

Or maybe it doesn't make a difference. :)
