What if you found out Bush was a cocaine dealing loser who got by in life on his daddy's connections? What if you also found out he repeatedly lied to the American people and that he had funded at least one illegal abortion while trying to prevent other people from having access to the same? What if you found out he used his daddy's influence to dodge the draft, then went AWOL from the National Guard? What if you also found out he had committed perjury and been investigated for insider trading - neither of which he had been prosecuted for because his father was the head of the CIA? What if you also found out that he was never elected to president but that he had his father's friends on a very high court appoint him to the office, against the will of the American people? What if you found out that this appointment caused more damage to American's faith in our system and our Supreme Court than any other action in the last 50 years?

Of course, all of this is just hypothetical, if you're willing to overlook the facts.

Considering that more people voted for Gore I think it would be pretty hard to prove. Maybe that's just me? Then again, I haven't listened to Rush lately, not sure what flavor of koolaid he might be handing out to his flock these days.

You might also consider that BS calls people who hate Bush "trolls" and people who hate Clinton are just concerned citizens. But that just goes back to the "consider the source" argument.

Remember this, my friends and fellow countrymen, Bush lost the election. That's a fact, not an opinion. He was appointed and he will never be legitimate in the eyes of most Americans. People like BS can apologize and make excuses all day long but the truth remains unchanged.

Everyone knows I hate our new president. I have made that clear in previous posts. But I will admit some prejudice: I generally disagree with most Republicans on many matters and I have a great suspicion of political families- regardless if they are dem or rep.

Perhaps in my mind, the most abhorrent thing to my thoroughly democratic nature is the family thing- this is what makes me think many Americans are latent monarchists. We have seen it on both sides- the Kennedy's and and now the Bush's.

I don't beleive in political families. I don't believe that our AMERICAN tradition has any place for family dynasties of any sort. Let's face it: if dad had not been president, the dude would be just another rich failure of the oil business.

I only caught parts of the speech on the news because I didn't want to watch the Inauguration. I wanted to buy shoes.

There is something vaguely wrong with thinking that shoes are more important than a new President. This really will bother me later, I'm sure of it.

However, the shoes are perfect and extremely comfortable. I wore them today during a job interview, and was very relaxed, knowing that I had great shoes.

It still doesn't bother me, but I have hope that in a couple of months I'll be really upset about missing that speech.

I'll be ready to buy some sandals then.
