June 7, 2002 | According to a former Enron Corp. executive under congressional investigation in relation to the company's collapse last fall, an Enron lobbyist tipped off the Bush administration last August about the company's impending financial problems.

Enron lobbyist Pat Shortridge met with White House economic advisor Robert McNally Aug. 15, the day after Enron president Jeff Skilling resigned, to alert the White House that Enron could face a financial meltdown that could possibly cripple the country's energy markets, the former Enron executive told Salon this week.

"It was very well known that Enron faced a financial meltdown," the former executive said. "The day that Jeff resigned our stock plummeted. We knew it wouldn't rally. What we didn't know was how the financial problems at Enron would impact the energy markets in the U.S. That's why Pat met with Mr. McNally. To find out."

 Buddies in High Places. . .

Until I see it on a congressional record transcript with a rebuttal, and not from biased sources, I don't believe anything. It's an election year, and the opposition socialist are leaving turds laying all around the capitol hoping for a few wins this fall. (Hitler's propaganda minister made those rules..if you tell a lie often enough, soon it will be truth)
As for credibility of any major news media...my av speaks for itself! :D

Beware the Bush...

The all seeing...

The unknowing...

Since everyone thinks he knows everything ahead of time...

How much do you think he made on last night's fight?

and...

do you think he might be able to tell me where I put my keys?

Are you joking?

He may know but he also forgets at the speed of light.

He's the only man I've ever come across who can say two words and lose the plot halfway through...

:D

Yeah, most congresspersons have no bias. No one ever lies under oath, either. I guess you are a lost cause. :D

So What? Would you feel better if Bush bailed out Enron? Seems to me having buddies in high places didn't pay off.

Did the US experience massive blackouts? Did the market drop to 1930 levels?

Enron is a yawner. If you are looking for a scandal, find one where the congress and past administration aren't knee deep in the shit. Or stick to scaring senior citizens about their monthly checks.
