I apologize for saying publically in one of my essays that Cheney should go to jail for stealing billions of dollars in no bid contracts from American taxpayers to help his former company Halliburton. That was just wrong and I am so, so sorry.
In a free enterprise, capitalistic society, I can see now that Cheney just wanted to eat. He just wanted his piece of the American pie. He just wanted to gouge all of us by putting our country deeper in debt by lining his pockets before leaving office. There's nothing wrong with that. Right? He's a great guy. He's a "public servant", the closest thing we have to a slave.
I apologize for calling Secretary Henry Paulson a criminal when he opened the treasury doors to pass out billions of dollars to his friends without accounting for any of the money. That was wrong of me to call this "public servant" a criminal. As Secretary of the Treasury, he was just a poor businessman who wasn't very good at math and/or accounting. That's all. That's it.
He really didn't lie to Congress when he said his old company, Goldman Sachs, was financially sound so that he could cash in his tax free 475 million dollars worth of stock options. He was just mistaken that Goldman Sachs was financially sound one month and filing for bankruptcy the next. Who knew? It was just a coincidence. Right?
Angelo Mozilo, Bush's pal and CEO of Countrywide Bank made sure he gave low interest and no interest loans to every congressman and congresswoman who wanted one. Even though he received the biggest fine in the history of fines, something like $35 million dollars for his role in defrauding people out of their homes, he didn't go to jail. What? Say what? He didn't go to jail? Not only didn't he go to jail but he was allowed to keep $450 million dollars that he stole from people.
What? Huh? Where's the outrage? Why, oh, why aren't these men in jail. Why, oh, why are these men able to profit from stealing from you and from me?
Yet, the real idiot here is George Bush. Weapons of mass destruction my ass. Manipulated by Papa Bush and Cheney, he should have been impeached and Cheney should have faced a firing squad. Then, when Bush prematurely declared the war was over, he should have been booted out of office, pushed off the ship he was on and left there to drown. If that's not enough, there's more.
Now, after putting so many of our sons and daughters in harms' way, with men and women coming home with no arms, no legs, no hands, and/or no feet, that is if they come home at all, he dares take $100,000 to speak for the Wounded Warriors while his wife steals another $50,000 to give another idiotic speech.
Seriously, as a fiction writer, I can't make up this shit. If I wrote this in a fictional story, no one would believe me. Of course, the Bush's need another $20,000 for air transport. I could have flown around the world ten times for much less than $20,000.
Yet, that's all okay. No problem. Nitwit Americans will still vote for the Republican Party while nodding their heads and believing that they have our best interest in heart by saying that the government is too big. When will we ever learn? Only, it's too late now.
It's too late for clean air. It's too late for clean water. It's too late to have real healthcare. It's too late to receive an education that won't put you in debt for the rest of you miserable lives. It's too late.
They're all dirty bastards and bitches. They're all greedy while pointing the finger at us for dare expecting, not benefits, but entitlements. The spin it's called now and what we dare deserve to receive are named entitlements instead of the benefits of working all of our lives.
How dare we ask for unemployment compensation until we find a new job? How dare we ask them to raise the minimum wage? How dare we ask for healthcare? How dare we expect to receive Social Security, Welfare, Medicare, and/or Medicare? How dare we barely survive while these men continue to feed at the trough.
We had our chance to rid Congress of these old, white men who dare call themselves public servants. Only, the Democrats didn't show up to vote. Too busy drinking beer and watching television, they don't care until it personally hurts them.
"Beer? What do you mean no beer?"
Yet, we'll all forget about this in the way we forgot how these thieves crashed the stock market and no one went to jail. No one went to jail for stealing billions and billions and billions of dollars.
If a black man steals a loaf of bread to feed his family, the police have the right to shoot him in the back. If he survives a bullet, he'll spend the rest of his life in jail. Meanwhile Bush, Cheney, Paulson, and Angelo Mozilo are living the good life. They're all living the American dream. These are great men who belong to have their names inscribed in American history.
With all the money we waste on helping other countries for the greed of oil and to line the pockets of government contractors and ammunitions, we could send every American who wants to go to college for free. We should have the best healthcare services in the world for free. Instead of our "public servants" busting the unions, we should expect retirement.
Now, unless you're a "public servant" or a thief, you have nothing. We're poor. We're disenfranchise. We're not entitled to anything. God help our children because they won't know any better. They'll never see a world with full time jobs with benefits, sick days, vacation, paid holidays, and retirement. Everything we have went to pay our "public servants."
Thank you for your service, Bush, Cheney, Paulson, and you too Mozilo. God bless America because no one else will.
