Well, now it's official. Bush has just admitted he had advance warning of 9/11-- only now, EIGHT months after the attack! Oh, well, I guess it just slipped his mind till now. Remember, the government's line up until now is we were caught totally by surprise by this thing, we had no idea it was coming. Now it is crystal clear they either DID IT THEMSELVES, or else they knew it was coming, and they let it happen. Even the normally spineless Democrats are now calling for an investigation. All you right-wing scumbags who gave me shit about this before, you can now come here and eat humble pie, admit I was right all along and you were wrong, and kiss my feet. With reverence and awe.

This is likely the beginning of the end for Bush and his corrupt, repressive, illegitimate regime. OUST THE USURPER NOW!!!

Sweet Talker

The White House, in the person of the Vice President, told NBC's Time Russert the Sunday after 9-11 that the White House had vague and non-specific warnings of a threat, but nothing specific enough to do anything about except continue to put military bases and airlines on alert....which they had already done.

So, the White House DID SAY days after this cowardly attack that they had some intelligence information that something was going to happen, but they had no way of knowing what.

With the sketchy information the White House had, there is nothing they could have done to stop what happened on 9-11. NOTHING.

The attacks on the WTC, the Pentagon, and planned attacks on other Washington targets had been in the planning for many months....if not years. Without more and specific intelligence information, it would not have been possible to stop what happened.

But, while we're at it, why not blame 8 years of Clinton decimating our military, running our intelligence organizations into the ground, continuously reducing intelligence funding, and rendering the level of security of the government so low that the White House was continuously cited for security violations.

(Monica Lewinsky was given one of the highest security clearances in the Pentagon on the President's orders. Now THERE'S a great security move by a president.)

Democrats will again shoot themselves in their already wounded feet if they try to further politicize this or try to shoot down one of the most popular presidents in history.

And....Bush did NOT admit what you say he admitted. But, then, I think you already knew that.

:)

After you lick my camel's ass clean I think I'll have you milk my chickens and suck off my donkey, and don't spill a drop of his donkeycum or I'll beat your ass with a bundle of rosebush canes.

You can be my own private zookeeper. Hee-Haw.

Where did you get your information? Why not post a url showing exactly where he admitted that he knew exactly when something was going to happen and where it was going to happen.

Then, after you lick my camel's ass clean, and milk my chickens, and suck off my donkey, I think I'll bury you up to your neck in sand and train my dogs to shit on your head.

This story does NOT say that the President was given this information. What is does say is that F.B.I. officials have said no information available to investigators before Sept. 11 could have prevented the attacks. Even though the Phoenix memorandum referred to Mr. bin Laden's possible use of flight schools, nothing in the letter forecast the Sept. 11 plot. None of the Middle Eastern men who were under investigation in Phoenix had any connection to Al Qaeda or to the Sept. 11 attacks, the officials added.

In an attempt to discredit a popular president who acted with resolve to this unprovoked and cowardly attack on unarmed civilians, Democrats and others are stooping lower than I thought possible, and are grasping for straws.

redwave and HSJ in the same thread

...agreeing with each other.

Why am I not surprised?

PC, a little help here, dude.

when does it say that no information available would have prevented the attack??

"Robert S. Mueller III, who did not become director until two weeks before the attacks, has acknowledged that the bureau gave the memo too little attention."

"Several senators said the letter represented a warning that went unheeded."

"The memorandum may not be the only internal document embarrassing to the bureau. In August, an agent speculated in notes, made when investigators sought to explain why Zacarias Moussaoui was enrolled in a Minnesota flight school, that Mr. Moussaoui might be planning to fly a plane into the World Trade Center. Mr. Moussaoui, a French citizen, who was soon arrested on immigration charges, was believed by the United States government to be the intended 20th hijacker on Sept. 11."

these are some examples. please re-read the artical more carefully. further more since when is Bush popular? more than half of the register voters dont like him. since when is that a definition of being popular.

and you ignored my comment about it being the executive branchs job to know about these things.

I read the article earlier today...so this was the second time. Again, it did not say that this obscure report was ever seen by the President.

Bush's job approval rating remains in the 70% range, the highest and longest approval of a president since these survey have been done.

I agree it is the responsibility of the Executive Branch AND the Congressional oversight committees to stay abreast of intelligence matters. But, field intelligence reports go through several layers of the FBI, the CIA, the DIA, and others intelligence gathering mechanisms before they ever appear in a briefing document for the President.

Given who the Vice President is, the Secretary of State is, the head of the NSC is, and who the Secretary of Defense is, nobody in their right mind could claim this White House is not well attuned to security and military concerns.

* on edit -- where did you get your information that over half the registered voters don't like Bush. That's simply not accurate.

The people responsible for this are in a cave in Afghanistan, As for our elected leaders there is enough blame to go around, Beginning with one Senator Frank Church, back in the 70s with the infamous "Church Committe" where they effectively cut the balls off the CIA. Dont forget Senator Torricelli either he too must share some responsibility. could you imagine if Bush would have told the public, "We have credible evidence that young Arab men are going to hijack a few planes. so were going to round up a few of these evil doers" The man would have been called a racist for "profiling" an ethnic class. So blame everyone equally, starting with Church and then work your way through Carter, who should have crushed the Iranians for taking our embassy , Reagan for not responding to the bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon, Bush 1 for not taking Saddam out and finally Clinton for not responding to numerous attacks on American assets. and finally Bush who inherited the whole mess. This isnt about Dems and Republicans it is about the failure of our govt, and our elected leaders.

It's a vast left wing conspiracy. Prince Ifuckboys heresay comments, Photogate, and Joe Libberrrrman's Enron renaissance, and Bush knew pre 9/11 just shows the democrats are terrified of losing the senate.

The republicans aren't any better. Bush is signing any mega spending bill they put in front of him.

You are so right. And the attack itself was predicted in the novel "A Debt of Honor" by Tom Clancy. So in reality, it's all Clancy's fault.

Fucktards.
