Bump this thread every time Itunes changes its fucking terms and conditions again

The version of itunes that was pushed to users desktops/laptops last week was buggy. I have a dual-processor laptop and itunes' AppleMobileDevice service consumed 100% of one CPU for hours at a time, driving the temperature of the laptop from 100 degrees to 170 degrees.

I ended up disabling the sync service until I figured out a workaround yesterday...and today we have yet another "new" version....

this thread's gonna spin like a prayer wheel.

Just the people who use iphones, ipods, ipads, or mac computers.

Half the world's population at most, no more than that.

Isn't there some other program that can be used on all those devices? I joke about Mac products a lot, even though I don't have any especially serious issues with them, but I cannot fucking stand iTunes.

Whatever other programs you decide to use, you can only update your mobile OS through Itunes. It is also your interface with the apple store, where you buy/download your apps.

If they've updated their T&C's, halfway through your download process you get taken off to a window to accept their updated blahblahblah. Then you're sent back to start your download over again.

It seems that once a month I have to agree to a 45 page contract just to download my 99 cent song. Very annoying!

Glad I didn't fall for the recent iTunes "upgrades"

I see. How extremely annoying. And to think I was considering getting an iPhone. Not now. Fuck that.

Get a phone on the Android platform instead.

I have one and I like it pretty well. I'm due for a replacement soon, so it's almost time to start shopping and see what's out there. Lady P made what I thought was a smart choice in getting an iPod Touch and a regular little old phone, but I think I want the whole tamale in one tortilla, and I have the above-mentioned aversion to all things Apple, so I have to consider that as well.

I despise all things Apple, but I bought an iPhone 4 in January.....it literally does everything I want it to do, with the possible exception of calling down a satellite death ray on Miles house, and hopefully someone's working on an app for that.

Get the iPhone...you won't be disappointed.

Yeah. That's by no means a reason to avoid the most elegantly subversive device of our age. Everyone else is still playing catch-up, and will be for a long time. And all the other content-delivery methods work the same way as Apple's anyway.

I have that app on my Eris. I promise to play with one with an open mind when it's shopping time.

HungryJoe, who used to post here once in a while and is a very close friend of mine in the flesh, once confirmed something I had been thinking: "Yup. Windows has successfully stolen all of Apple's good ideas." He was talking about PC v. Mac, but I think it's true across the board as far as I can tell. I've been playing with Lady P's iTouch lately and she just grabs her tits and...

I beg your pardon.

...and it's a really cool, slick little thing, but I like my phone just as much.

i had no idea apple was trying to take down the government. damn it. i knew i should've bought an ipod instead of going all cheapskate.

Oh, and blackberry is the way to go.

Phone/ playbook combo.

Doesn't get much sweeter.
