bullied and harrassed

So, how much bullying and harrassment will Literotica allow before they will do anything about it?

There is no support for authors, just ridicule and shame and rude vindictive comments. For a site that is promoting stories, why would authors be allowed to be bullied to the point they don't even want to try anymore?

I looked at a fair sample of your posted stories. Most have no comments, and a few have favorable responses. Your scores are good, too.

What did I miss?

I'm an author and I have stories posted here.

Yes, I've had abusive reviews, but I leave them up.

People are entitled to their opinion and the site owners sweep the spamming ones (or used to)

You also have the ability to hide the comments if you so choose.

This is free speech and if you want to reach a wide audience, expect...a wide audience.

If only people could be less...people-ly.

Maybe she got a private comment from some schlub that upset her. All the comments, the few I could find, were praising her writing.

Maybe she's just having a bad day. :rose:

It's entirely possible. Perhaps she has been conversing with Scouries.

However, I have to defend Lit in the sense that yes, you get obvious troll being obvious. A zero with the comment of "thiz is wawful." Sometimes they actually try to hurt my feelings.

But what is genuinely helpful is the contributions of other authors, who in the Author's Hangout were very specific and helpful.

From Lit I learned that I have a tendency to ignore the visual descriptions of things. They're not important to me, but it's fair that someone wants to know...what color is her hair? What the hell is going on? What do these people look like?

Yes, I think it's funny when someone is irritated that my fantasy submission has a decided lack of robot sex. I moved out of fantasy and into romance, where people's expectations were different and my style was more suited to the people interested in reading my stuff.

I learned a lot of good here, but I had to filter. So does anybody who wants to make a public debut or start a base. If you think it's tough amateur, try professional.

No matter how good you are at writing some egg is going to email you or leave rude comments.

Some of them are hilarious.

Just one of mine:

"Fuckin Sick

Why doen't the hubby get a job as a pimp. The only dogs in this story are the author and the sicko males who get off on this crap."

I bet the critic was practically frothing at the mouth whole posting this gem. :D

The author's hangout has some great people who are helpful and supportive.

This thread may help you realize you are not the only one getting rude comments.

If you enjoy writing for literotica then continue to do so.

Pussy puss? :D

Sweetlusciousdesire doesn't seem to like trolls - fair enough, but then under her name she says to the lit world "Fuck you too" - possibly double standards methinks.

I think she's a wee bit ticked off.

Every now and then I'm sure most of us has felt a bit pissed off and vented.

Screw you all, lit. :D

Thanks. I dumped the troll's comments who keeps writing negative shit about my stories and laughing at my attempts to write.

Constructive criticism is helpful, if it's not malicious.

Maybe my stories should take that turn and that specific troll could get their fucking ass kicked but good. Good insipiration! Death and revenge might fuel more inspiration than sex.

Good point, Laurel I'll just make sure no one can comment anymore. Perhaps the availibility of editors for the final editing and for support might help future authors. (when you try to access editors you don't get a response) Or before a story gets published some suggestions could be directed to the author in the case of major flaws.

I'm not sure how much cash you're making from this site, but some support for authors and their writing would benefit people. Allowing people to be abusive and not doing anything at all about it can also be an area that can be improved on. Trolls will stop being trolls if their abuse is not tolerated.

I terminated anonymous comments, it increased the one-bombs and produced a better grade of insult. I see no evidence for any constructive feedback, anywhere; its almost always LOVED IT or HATED IT. Every reader devoutly believes that her druthers matter, and any other opinion is wrong. Most readers have no clue what good writing is or isn't.
