'Built on a lie': Jen Psaki annihilates Peter Doocy's misleading question on Georgia voting

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday pushed back against the assertion that Georgia's new voting laws are less restrictive than Colorado's laws.

Psaki was asked the question by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy during Tuesday's White House briefing.

"Is the White House concerned that Major League Baseball is moving their All-Star Game to Colorado, where voting regulations are very similar to Georgia?" Doocy wondered.

Psaki was prepared with an answer.
"Let me just refute the first point that you made," she replied. "Colorado allows you to register on election day. Colorado has voting by mail, where they send to a 100% of people in the state who are eligible applications to vote by mail. Ninety-four percent of people in Colorado voted by mail in the 2020 election."
"They also allow for a range of materials to provide for the limited number of people who vote on election day," Psaki continued. "I think it's important to remember the context here of the Georgia legislation is built on a lie. There was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Georgia's top Republican election officials have acknowledged that repeatedly in interviews."

She added: "What there was, however, was record-setting turnout, especially by voters of color... What we're seeing here for politicians who didn't like the outcome, they're not changing their policies to win more votes, they're changing the rules to exclude more voters. And we certainly see the circumstances as different."

SHe did not add, "Now shut up and go away, Douchy!":D:D:D

Colbert tells 16-year-olds needing ID for COVID vaccine to just use DMs from Matt Gaetz

And nails Mitch's carcass to the Hypocrite Tree!

:D:D:D:D:D:D

He moved on to attack Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for telling corporations to stay out of politics.

"Yes, corporations, Mitch McConnell wants you to stay out of politics, which is why I'm sure any day now, he's going to return the $4.3 million he's accepted from corporations in the last five years," said Colbert. "And I'm being told he's not going to do that and he made an additional statement."
Colbert then played the clip of McConnell saying that they can keep giving money - just stay out of politics.

"No, no, I'm just sayin' shushh, darlin', you're so much prettier when you don't talk," said Colbert doing a McConnell impression. "Now, spread open that wallet, baby, and give ol' Mitch a peek at that bottom line. I'm going to f*ck your wallet. Cash isn't the only way McConnell's being a hypocrite here. Back in 2013, he defended the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling that corporations are people thusly."

He ran the clip of McConnell saying that the SCOTUS ruling really just told corporations, "in America should be free to participate in the political process." McConnell appears to be rescinding that offer.

"I'd call that a self-own, but he's already 100 percent owned by corporations," Colbert joked.
:)

McConnell flip-flops — GOP leader is now back to saying corporations can participate in politics

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday reversed his widely-panned position that corporations should donate to politicians but not speak out on issues facing their employees and customers.

"I didn't say that very artfully yesterday day," McConnell admitted.

"They're certainly entitled to be involved in politics. They are. My principal complaint is they didn't read the darn bill," McConnell said.
But instead of noting anything wrong said by Delta Airlines or Coca-Cola, McConnell attacked President Joe Biden.

Sounds like Mitch got bitch slapped by some donors!

These low character, liars that make up the REPUBLICAN party....their days are number and they know it.

Sounds like Mitch got bitch slapped by some donors!

:D:D:D:D:D

I think all it would take is saying, "Well, OK, then. Just tear up our checks to you."

It's good to see Mitch getting bitch slapped. No one deserves it more than he does. At least Trump does what he does because he's stupid about politics. McConnell isn't.

Morning Joe shreds GOP for 'creepy' fundraising message based around Trump's 'cult of personality'

GQP grifting!

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) got mocked by the crew at MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Thursday after sending out a fundraising email warning them to keep making monthly donations or else face the wrath of former President Donald Trump.

As reported by the Washington Post, the NRCC email in question told donors that they'd be labeled a "DEFECTOR" if they opted out of making recurring donations, and warned them that "we will have to tell Trump" that they "sided with the Dems" if they stopped giving.

MSNBC's Willie Geist pointed out how this shows Republicans are still in Trump's thrall, even after he was voted out after one term and impeached for a second time.

RNCC is just in it for the money!

Morning Joe mocks Joe Manchin for wanting to work with Republicans: 'I want my cat to play Chopin!'

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough on Thursday mocked Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) for saying that he wants to preserve the legislative filibuster because he wants to try to work with Republicans on passing legislation.

Scarborough argued that Manchin's desire for bipartisanship seems highly unlikely to generate results given how rigid the GOP has been at saying "no" to bills whenever a Democrat is in the White House.

"He wants to work with the Republicans," Scarborough said. "Well, I want my cat, Meatball, to play Chopin. I really do! It would be nice, as I was having an early dinner, to hear Meatball get on the piano and play Chopin. He's not going to do it."

Cats have short fingers and Mitch is just a dick! Wise up Joe!

The RNC has sent out a mailer that is going to infuriate Trump

Donald Trump probably is not happy about this.

The Republican National Committee last week mailed supporters a fundraising letter and survey of GOP 2024 presidential hopefuls over the signature of RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. The letter was remarkable, not for what it said, but what it didn't say.

The party of Donald Trump didn't mention Donald Trump, other than to list his name without fanfare on an alphabetical list of 15 potential presidential nominees. Instead, McDaniel offered the following unconvincing disclaimer:

Here's the list of candidates, with their accompanying descriptions:
