I some down time today I was watching a medical piece from a group of doctors working on a gene and DNA program.
Without getting too geeky, it started by detailing what a Korean biotech lab is doing to take mammoth DNA which has been frozen in Siberia and ultimately use it within an African elephant to hopefully bring back the mammoth species.
Their DNA experiments have already yielded dogs which are like the parents, but "improved."
Then they talked about how they are starting to sequence the 23 chromosome pairs in cell nuclei and in a small DNA molecule found within individual mitochondria. The result they are seeking is to make humans with certain characteristics.
They specifically mentioned the length of limbs, fingers, (you see where this is leading), as well as facial and body features, down to shape and color.
It got me to thinking; if you could order the perfect mate describe the perfect person your would order from body features to their mental capacity.
Sidenote: Since this was a Korean lab of 113 scientists on this project, I'm wondering if they had any hand in "improving" Olympic athletes.
