Enrique Dialgo

Twenty-two years old he was the cock of the walk. A man who fought his way to the top of a gang already known for it's bloodiness and violent past.

Flashing dark eyes and rugged good looks made him popular with the ladies, lightning fast, rock hard fists and a sharp mind made him dangerous to the men.

Still he earned a grudging respect from all that knew him and his reputation grew.

His gang flourished. His own brothers and sisters were sent to schools and began the best schooling possible. He was on top of the world and thought no man would cross him.

He was right.

But to his surprise someone did.

A woman.

And that is how this story begins.

Not Just Any Woman

And the woman who brought Enrique down was not just any woman. She was none other than Assistant District Attorney Marcie Peters. Graduating near the top of her class, she had landed a job as a prosecutor, and quickly worked her way up the ranks to Assistant D.A. She didn't look 41...more like 30 to 35. She had added just a few pounds as she approached middle-age, but still had a 40C chest. She had a Nordic look, standing 5'11".

Marcie had a reputation for being ruthless...a reputation that was well-earned. She was hard-working, putting in twelve-hour days. She also didn't hesitate to cut corners to get a conviction on those whom she took a dislike to. "They're all human scum anyway," she once remarked to a friend. "If I let them get off on a technicality, they'll be back anyway, and I'll have to go through the bullshit all over again."

And so it had been with Enrique. Marcie had known full well he was guilty, because he had been charged, he was Mexican, and that was good enough to send someone upstate in her book. Marcie leaned on the convict in the cell across from Enrique's to be an anonymous informant...conveniently leaving out the $2000 payoff she had made to him. Somehow that little incentive never made it into the trial. The jury was supposed to believe the jailbird was testifying out of the goodness of his heart. Apparently they did believe it...because Marcie got two dimes for Enrique.

Twenty years

Enrique was stunned as the gavel slammed down and the sentence followed.

"Twenty FUCKIN years?"

He spat the words at trhe female attorney who had assured him minutes before if he pled guilty his sentence would be that of less than a single year with good behavior.

He was dragged from the courtroom kicking and screaming, his eyes not missing the satisfied look of the prosecuting attorney and a look of smugness on his own legal consel that puzzled him for month to come.

"This ISN'T over yet SISTER."

His words weren't from anger. Rather a cold hatred that spoke of patience and a dark knowledge of what he would do to her once he arranged his escape from prison.

All it would take was time and money.

Both he had ample quantities of, as well as a growing anger and hatred for Mz. Marcie Peters

Days went by, and Marcie had largely forgotten about Enrique. After all, he was just another scumbag in her eyes. And she was used to threats. They came with the territory. In her experience, they were one last attempt at bravado by people who had gamed against the system, rolled the dice, and lost.

She was more focused on sending her 19 year-old daughter Cindi to her second year of college. She had been staying at home, but today was the first day of class, and she was gone to the college across town now. She was different from her mother...a lot more laid-back, progressive, almost a hippie. She was majoring in English Literature and Dramatic Art. This had been a bone of contention between mother and daughter on a couple of occasions.

The days passed.

Then the weeks.

And then, months.

Enrique quickly proved himself in the maximum security prison, though he wore a few fresh scars to prove he was no hombre to mess with, and after he began to learn of the woman that was responsible for taking away his life.

And with each scrap of information he began to plan.

First how to escape.

Then how to find this woman and the people she cared for in her life.

And then how to make it as painful as possible as he took them away from her and made her PAY.

Enrique managed to find out, slowly but surely, about Marcie's daughter Cindi. The gang had a presence on the campus, providing marijuana to some of the frat houses. Not to mention stealing stereos and other valuables out of rich college kids' cars.

One gangbanger's half-brother Sergio worked as a maintenance worker in the dorm. He happened to be assigned to Cindi's dorm, and spotted her. Building 7, room 213. With a roommate. The maintenance man got a hundred for studying her habits...including her propensity to walk to the convenience store a couple blocks off campus, right around sundown each night.

Sergio's job was not an ideal career choice. But he needed to make rent and as a maintence man he was offered a full-time position on their staff. Each night as Cindi would head out to the conveinant store. He would watch as her and her roomate would giggle, and walk into the store to purchase various items. Usually a pack of cigarettes, and a few snacks along with a bottle of soda. They did alot of studying and they deserved a break every now and then ecpecially at the end of the night. This was her time to unwind and talk about the weekend.

As Sergio watched the two girls enter the store that night he took note of were his half-brother could locate Maricie's daughter. The plot was slowly beginning to thicken as he grinned, and picked up the pay-phone to call his brother and set up a place for them to meet up.

Cindi took her time in the store. She was going to have a sleepover, so she bought more groceries than normal. And there was a line at the front of the store...it was Friday night after all. She had plenty of time...and nothing to worry about. That she knew of. She was already dressed in a short skirt and a three-quarters T-shirt that read "Three Rivers U" on it.

Detail by detail Enrique learned.

Of the attitude the Assistant D.A. had towards men.

Of the pretty daughter she had and the college she now attended, and it's close proximity to his present location, and which guards could be bought.

He almost had to thank the mother and D.A. one evening as he stared at the picture of her daughter and brought himself to a much needed release.

But he didn't. Instead he promised himself to do it in person, as he stood over her bound and nude body.

All that remained were a few more details. The smug look in the defense attornies eyes was one that still puzzled him. The schedule of the guards was another.

It all began to fall together. He found a guard that loved his money more than his duty, the fall break for college was approaching quickly as well, and Enrique was allowed to work in the kitchens. A phone call confirmed the daughter was within reach when he wanted her as well.

"You will pay Mz. Peters, in ways you've never dreamed possible even in your worst nightmares."

Cindi reached the front of the line. Balancing some groceries, she reached for her wallet to pay, unaware of the half-brothers who were almost in position.

"Use her as you want"

Enrique had assured the voice on the other end of the line.

"But make sure you take pictures of her for me to send to her mother."

He wanted the brutalized woman to be seen clearly in the photos. All the better to bring terror to the mother, and to make sure she rushed blindly to her poor daughters rescue and her own brutal fate.

"And keep her alive."

Cindi paid for the groceries...balancing them awkwardly, she walked out of the store. The sun had gone down...the co-ed moved down the alley.

Maria drove herself to find the truth for her clients past and present. She spent hours pouring over the records of her old cases that she lost and was determined to discover what she missed pertaining to the Enrique Dialgo case.

In her opinion there were too many variables, especially pertaining to the victum. A woman in her mid twenties that suffered hallucinations, paranoid delusions, and a personality disorder. The damning evidence was all those 911 calls and the fact that he was found within three blocks of her place in a questionable vechile.

Maria strived to prove his innocence using the other statements of certified alibis that was with Enrique on several of the incidents but the health of the woman deteorated which made her client look even more guilty, but the overdose only condemned him by the jury reaction to the evident.

"There had to be something that I missed.. but what?" Maria muttered to the calico cat that was mewing at her ankles

Probably your best bet would be to bump into Cindi in the parking lot...happen to be nearby when the encounter between Cindi and the brothers happens.

Maria felt nervous and she tended to overshop at the local store. Of course walking alone in the night can be dangerous but Maria always carried her pepperspray..

Maria dropped two twenties in her pocket and grabbed a jacket and headed out in her car. She moved smoothly thru the old neighborhood and then she pulled in the parking lot and noticed a young girl at the exit, something the seemed familair about her as well but Maria wasn't quite sure what it was.

"Excuse me, por favor.. have we met before.. you seem so familiar." Maria asked

It went smoothly.

The guard came through and made sure Enrique's exit from the kitchen was unnoticed and would remain that way for the next few days.

Enrique's main "squeeze" was waiting at the tree line half a mile off the prison grounds with a change of clothes and a car stolen so recently the owner was still sleeping in his bed.

An hour later Enrique was shoulder to shoulder with his cousin, watching Cindi pass the time with another figure that seemed all too familiar.

"Am I dreaming Serg, or is that the bitch that helped send me up the river chatting with the D.A.'s kid?"

His answer came in the form of a leer that reached from ear to ear, Enrique taking the lead as they began to dog the pair of naive and unaware women as they moved into the poorly lighted parking lot.

And then the moment arrived.

With Sergio standing behind Cindi Enrique moved out of the shadows enough to be noticed but not recognized.

"What a pleasant surprise LADIES, my luck has begun to change for the better, too bad yours is about to take a harsh turn for the WORST!"

Cindi looked at the two men, then at Maria. "Go away or I'll scream," was her curt response.

Maria looked at the face of the one that was the closest. She felt the goosebumps prickle her arms and neck. "Many pardons Senorita"

"Go away or I'll scream," was her curt response.

"I don't have much money.. please just take it..." Maria began as she yanked out the fake wallet that was booby trapped with farmers green ink. Maria recognized the actions for a gang which was why she was reaching for the pepperspray.

remain calm, don't panic or make sudden moves Maria reminded herself as she held out the wallet.

Enrique's eyes flashed as he stepped forward.

It WAS the defense attorney after all and for a second he puzzled over just how involved the two were over his case and others like him.

And then he grinned. There would be plenty of time later for getting the whole truth out of her.

"I don't want your stinkin money baby, what I want you got covered up under that prim and proper outfit, do us both a favor and strip out of it why don't you?"

Watching the attorney he left the younger woman to Serg, who had silently walked up behind her and was as of yet still undetected.

"Or would you prefer I rip them off?"

"I don't want your stinkin money baby, what I want you got covered up under that prim and proper outfit, do us both a favor and strip out of it why don't you?"

Maria's eye widened as the words tumbled in her mind. She was in shock of hearing them. He was not a gang it was worse as his face became evident. "Enrique"

"Or would you prefer I rip them off?"

Maria grabbed the pepperspray and aimed at him, she had to escape as it was obvious that her life was in peril but so was the other girl. Maria only hoped with the diversion that the girl had sense enough to run to safety.

The tiny dark canister was raised in sight as Maria took aim at him, but something went wrong as the hand was blocking her ability to hit his face with the spray. The smell was truth on what she was trying to do to him.

Enrique grinned as the bravado manuever failed with the small can emptying itself.

And then the grin failed as he stepped forward between the two women.

"You're in MY world now bitch. The only laws are MINE!"

His eyes had picked up his cousins hand holding the shoulder of Cindy, the glint of silver telling him Sergio had backed up his play with a razor edge knife, and with that reassuring move Enrique would be able to put his full attention to the Defense Attorney.

"There are no courts, no judge or jury, only my brand of JUSTICE!"

He swung with the last word, his hand open but making square contact with the side of her face to drive her against the side of a derelict car.

Gripping the neck of her blouse he yanked it downwards, the fabric shredding tearing away to leave her nude from the waist up save for her tiny, lace bra.

"Nice, I like a woman that dresses sexy."

His face showed the appreciation his words spoke of, but his eyes were icy as the woman before him righted herself, and his next words proved his intent.

"Now get the rest off your clothes OFF or you'll be walking around bare assed after I'm done with you!"

"There are no courts, no judge or jury, only my brand of JUSTICE!"

Maria dropped from the blow, her face stung and her head throbbed from hitting the solid object. Her vision started to blur as she was trying to move but that was not happening as she felt her blouse give way to the strain of pulling and the tatters dropped to the ground at her feet.

"Nice, I like a woman that dresses sexy."

"Enrique.. don't do this.. it will only make things worse...." Maria tried to reason with him. His eyes only showed the seriousness that was implied.

"Now get the rest off your clothes OFF or you'll be walking around bare assed after I'm done with you!"

Maria was shaking as she slipped her thumbs into the waistband of the skirt, she slowly moved it over her hips as she choked back sobs. Her chest was on fire with pain as the new found fear was setting in and even if one of them screamed that knife would easily end the cry.

Maria eased off the bottom half of her slip to reveal the matching lacy undies. She felt the air whip over her bare flesh and already it was making it difficult for her to concentrate on anything but the safety of the other girl. Maria fumbled with the front clasp on her bra and her full tanned breasts bounced being free of the restraint and the nipples hardened in the night air. This was embarassing Maria even more as the mixed signals was making Enrique smile.
