Benjamin (Ben) Dover looked around his studio where he lived and worked and finally convinced himself that he had to get rid of the drawing board that had so nearly cost him his life. He still didn't understand how the fantasy monster he had drawn had suddenly come to life and attacked him. He had been quick witted enough to get to the drawing board and draw a spear through the monster's heart and it had disappeared except for the lifeless creature on the drawing board. That had been yesterday and he had struggled with the idea of selling the board, he didn't have the heart to destroy it so he placed an advert outside the studio where he lived and worked.
To make it look more appealing he thought he'd draw something safe on it, so he set to work and finally stood back looking at the fantasy world he'd created.
A ring on the doorbell brought him out of his reverie,
"Just a moment, I'll be right with you," He called out as he covered the picture.
He traipsed down the stairs and opened the door.
