Hey! I have a question- about how long does it take to bruise a bottom while spanking with a hair brush? The paddling is being done on a bare bottom with a wooden hair brush. I'm not talking completely black and blue, just a little bruised.

It depends on how hard you hit, the weight of the hairbrush, the material of the hairbrush, and whether you hit with a corner. You could bruise an ass in just a couple whacks if you use a heavy one and hit hard enough.

If you're worried about it, you might like to try Arnica cream (I think it also comes in tablet form). It's a old herbal remedy which reduces inflamation and bruising. You should be able to find it at your local pharmacy.

Are you trying to bruise, or not to bruise? I bruise easily and could probably bruise with one smack, if hard enough. Know thy sub.

:D
In my experience, bruising depends on the person. some bruise easily, and others do not. As far as how long they last it depends, as I said it depends on the person, as well as how hard they were spanked. I have seen some mild bruises last 2 - 3 days, and more severe bruises last a week or more. Sometime after a paddling, a wet cold wash cloth applaid to the area can lesson the bruises, but all people are different.

Happy spanking

The spankee has to be considered to as they mighjt be one of those who do bruise easy anyway as I have come accross in my past.

So mark up easier than others.

Great idea Pert although it does reduce bruising it still takes a bit of time, BANDIT:heart: has used it many times.

Depends on the person really. And how hard they got smacked. :)

I know personally I bruise easily. After some hard paddling, and big bright bruises, it can take up to 2 weeks. But that truly depends on each person. Arnica which was suggested above can help, and also cool compresses can help as well.

I wish you luck...

Totally depends on the spankee in my experience.

I bruise rather easily (sometimes scarily easily depending on how I'm doing healthwise and what meds I'm on.). I have a hellacious bruise on my right butt cheek right now that's the exact size and shape of my cell phone. I had it in my back pocket and a 10 minute car ride was enough to raise a bruise. A friend of mine hardly bruises on her butt at all, but her arms and legs bruise easily.

Now, of you're trying to bruise someone and they have no underlying health problems that will be aggravated by this have them take a regular aspirin every eight hours or so starting the day before the spanking. Aspirin is a blood thinner (which is why sometimes people doing aspirin therapy tend to bruise easier.). Another kinky friend of mine notices that she bruises less during allergy season. She asked her ENT Doctor and he said that's a common side effect of some OTC alllergy meds like loratidine and diphenhydramine. So if you're trying to avoid bruising and again it won't aggravate any underlying health conditions, you may try having your spankee start taking one of those a few days before the spanking. Diphenhydramine (it's the active ingredient in Benadryl and the sleep ingredient in Tylenol PM) tends to make people sleepy so be careful when driving if you're not used to it. Loratidine (active ingredient in Claritin) is less sedative than the other. It's also less expensive if you get the house brand version at Target or WallyWorld. I take it during ragweed season.

Have fun and play safe!

Oh yeah, and another way to possible enhance bruising? Pop the spankee in a hot bath or go hot tubbing afterwords. For some reason, that may make the bruises rise faster and last longer.

ETA: Note that I was talking about plain old loratidine, not the kind that comes with pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine is nasty stuff, makes my heart race.

Hot water makes bruising more severe because it speeds up blood flow. That's why people put ice on injuries to keep the swelling down. ;)

Makes sense... Not that I've ever wanted bruise inhancement...;)
