The State of Brownbackistan (formerly Kansas) is facing a monumental $400 million dollar deficit this year by giving tax breaks to millionaires.

The governor and the Republican legislature are proposing a $206 dollar surcharge on every health insurance policy sold in Kansas.

I bet they thought they could blame President Obama for this.

Your idea of a "monumental" debt seems quite flexible. If Obama's deficit were that small, you would probably be calling him a great economic genius, or words to that effect.

Brownback took Kansas from a net surplus to a $400 million shortage in a little over 4 years. It takes a special type of talent to screw up that badly.

No. I know some states do charge sales tax on food from grocery stores. I was in Hawaii a few years ago, and they did. I have never lived in TN, nor have I ever bought groceries there.
