I'm looking for a detailed, imaginative long term brother/sister role play. Sexual tension through teenage years, estrangement during adulthood, followed by confessions and reconciliation. And of course lots of potential for sexual nonsense!
I remember reading "The go between" as a precocious, pretentious 18 year old, waiting to take the big exciting leap to university. The first line has always stayed with me: "The past is a foreign country...they do things differently there". And it came to me again, as I taped up the last few boxes of bric a brac from my father's shambling cottage, all the odd trinkets he collected before he died.
I resolved to take one final look around at the place where I'd spent an idyllic childhood and before prospective buyers came ambling around. Empty rooms take on an eerie perspective, like shadows and feelings recorded in the white stucco walls.
My father's vast room which doubled as his study; my room, still bearing the marks of countless adolescent posters. And then my sister's, where I lingered longer than I planned. For a moment I believed that I detected her perfume, her laughter..there it was, the past, the foreign country.
