Brooks: ‘People are underplaying’ Biden’s comment about oil transition

Brooks said, “The one moment I think people are underplaying, which would worry me if I were on the Biden team, was that moment of transitioning away from oil and gas. That — Hillary Clinton said something like that about transitioning away from coal last time, and it really hurt her, not only in coal countries. It’s a cultural statement. A lot of people say, hey, I work in manufacturing. I work in industry. What, do we just not exist for you people? And so I think that statement has the potential to reverberate a little in some communities in a way, frankly, that a lot of us in the media won’t quite anticipate how people are hearing that, hearing it as an insult.”

At times the oil industry has bought into their “competition”
They know their time is limited
The Oil folks have trillions of reasons to keep things as they are
THEY avoided taking lead out of their product back in the day
Trust them? Feel sorry?? Hell no!
Things will have to change!!
Why? Because industry needs POWER
In 1980, an oil exec told me and other high school kids that THEY would determine that timeline. That was before climate change
Over TIME has to be planned!!

Man plans..... Mother Nature laughs. I just hope that Biden's plan of carbon capture, de-subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, and investment in renewables + infrastructure only makes her chuckle.
