"Thank you, so much," I sincerely express my gratitude to the very sweet, very sympathetic, old man that had taken pity on me. He has delivered me kindly to this location that I had no means of reaching. I think he knows that he's a life saver and that he's saved mine. Truly, I can understand where the sympathy's roots originate from. It is a sad sight to see a purebred city woman lost in a very small town. Let alone a small town centered around farmers and ranchers.

What a sight, huh? Just moments ago I looked exactly like that. Sitting on a bench where the bus had deposited me, giving me a load of instructions that I still cannot make sense of. Gabriel Wilds. Where was Gabriel Wilds' ranch? That was the question I had asked the first man to pass by. He gave me the oddest and most estranged of looks and replied, "Heaven Acres" and left.

I now know that "Heaven Acres" happens to be the name of the horse ranch that Gabriel owns.

From the words that Danny and Trent spoke, Gabriel was in need of a cook and I could do that. House and board would be free and I would not have to pay for a single thing. Well, I would of course have to buy my personal items and such, but that I could manage with the money that Gabriel would pay me.

My grandma had taught me how to cook and I have a secret pride for my culinary talents. I have only one other talent and I am well known for it. However, out here in this secluded area of town my identity will remain a secret.

Danny, Gabriel's youngest brother, told me that I would simply have to give Gabe the letter and I would get the job. I pray that it will be that easy. I am worried though, as it seems that Gabe severely dislikes his younger brother for abandoning the family tradition of ranching to go and make it big in the large city. I can only hope that Gabe's resentment of his brother will not sway his decision.

"You are very welcome, little lady," the elder man huffs kindly and takes his leave.

As I watch the dust cloud chase wildly after the rampant elder driver of the beat up truck a door slams shut behind me. Startling at the sudden sound I turn quickly and wince as I twist my leg slightly. A very beautiful woman is storming angrily toward a cherry red, very expensive, sports car.

"You are a fucking dick!" She screams at a man as he emerges calmly onto the porch.

Though he speaks not a single word his eyes seem to flare with a fire that strips the woman of her fiery temper and crass words in exchange for a tempered fear.

The woman tightly clamps her lips shut, throws the door of her car open, clambers into the cab, and slams the door shut. Her eyes notice me and she spits rudely in my direction. The engine of her car revs to life and the car leaps forward as she slams the pedal to the floor. A spray of dust and gravel is fired in a cloud of chaos as she rips out of the driveway. I watch her leave unoffended but very curious.

I turn my eyes to the man on the porch, he is now leaning easily against the side of the house. A black Stetson shades his face from the sun so I can barely see his eyes, so little of them that I cannot make out the color, but I can surely feel his gaze on me. His face is slightly darkened by a five o'clock shadow and from that I am able to discern that his natural hair color is black. His lips are a pale pink, smooth, and so very kissable, but at the moment they are slightly pursed as if annoyed.

A simple black, short sleeved tee seems stretched almost to the point of ripping across his broad shoulders and hugs tightly to his chiseled body. I can see a sample of dark black chest hair through the V of his shirt and my stomach quivers with the start sexual arousal. I dare not shame myself by glancing any lower and instead I peripherally note that he's wearing a pair of heavily used jeans. And a growing bulge at the crotch. I blush furiously and quickly look to his eyes.

The weight of his gaze quickly changes and suddenly he seems almost hostile. I know instantly that he knows I'm a city girl and to make it even worse he can tell I'm from New York. This man is quickly becoming a complex man as I try to describe him with silent thoughts that make no sense.

We have yet to speak a word to each other, but I can feel that he hates city people and cities, period. It also seems that Gabe's ranch is a pride of his own. He looks to be a hard worker and I pray that Gabriel isn't as cold as this man.

He seems perfectly comfortable to look down at me and maintain the odd silence that has settled between us.

"Uh . . . Hello. I'm Terra, Terra Keats. Can . . . Is Gabriel . . . May I speak to Gabriel Wilds?" Awkwardly, with all my bags of luggage I struggle to fetch my letter. Feeling stupid and clumsy as he watches my hands fumble through the bags in search of the letter I quickly pray to God that nothing else goes wrong.

The letter is found, not as fast as I prefer, but found all the same and I straighten myself. "I have a letter from his brother Donny that will explain everything."

Was it just my imagination or did he seem to tense upon hearing "Donny"? Could this man be Gabriel? I doubt that, the man Donny told me about was so very, very gentle with his horses. Surely Gabe cannot be the man in front of me.

"I'm Gabe," His deep voice rumbles tightly and my heart stops.

OC:

Anyone and everyone is welcome. However, the position of Gabe cannot be claimed as I am looking for a "writer" to really bring Gabe to life. Gabe's heart is surrounded by a very thick wall of ice and very few actually have his loyalty, but most importantly his love.

Upon laying eyes on her he instantly and wholeheartedly dislikes her, maybe even as much as hates her. However, his physical attraction to her body is as strong, if not stronger, than his dislike.

The man who plays Gabe needs to be rude, crude, simply put: he needs to be a total and complete asshole toward Terra. He needs to do so in a masculine manner, though. To add a complexity to the story he must also be highly possessive of Terra.

Through the course of the thread Terra is finally able to slip past his defenses and into his heart, but this is after she works herself to death for him, breaks and decides to start saving her money for a bus ticket back home, and, most importantly, after he reads her letter.

The letter is to be ignored until a later part in the story when Terra leaves or is about to. It explains that due to an operation on her knee she is no longer able to participate in the gymnast finals. That means that she will not receive her pay and with her injury she has no chance of being hired in the city. She is at the ranch to earn her way in life, though she has been offered a free room with every convenience free of charge. The letter proves how wrong Gabe's beliefs about her are. He merely thinks that she is a city woman, but the letter deems her a hard worker, as he is, with a level head and high morals. Something that he has been searching for in a woman.

Any and all guys that wish to be Gabriel please send me a PM continuing from my IC post. I will choose the one who I believe to best capture Gabriel's personality.

I will also need someone to play:

Gabriel's Two Sisters (They are Twins)- They've got big hearts and are waiting for the right men to come along and sweep them off their feet.

Gabriel's Dad- Lost the ranch to Gabe during a bet and is both angry and proud that Gabriel has increased the ranch's initial profit. He is a business man and wants to ensure the growth of the empire that he started as a young boy. He's a lusty bastard and fucks most of the women that he hires to seduce his son. The first time he sees Terra he want's her body and makes it known to all. Gabe may greatly dislike the city woman working in the kitchen of his home, but the thought of her beneath his father gives him a feeling as if he's just been punched in the gut.

Ranch hands- To take care of the horses and service the women that are harshly rejected by Gabe. You boys become close to Terra, becoming her best friends. Due to Gabe's volatile attitude you guys must walk on eggshells when talking to Terra while Gabe is present.

*I need a ranch hand that is to Gabe's closest friend and who is not afraid to tell Gabe the truth, though it may earn you some nice bruises and black eyes.

Sexy women- Hired by Gabriel's dad to seduce Gabe into marriage. They are mostly after his money and body. Gabe's morals do not allow him to fuck you ladies, but the ranch hands are more than willing to accommodate you with your carnal desires. Maybe even your hearts.

Any other characters that you see fit to play, please, join in.

I think that is all, but changes may be made.

Anyone who wishes to join needs to simply post a bio. Though you may make it as simple as you wish, I appreciate details.

Also, please post at regular intervals.

Should you have any questions or suggestions, please send me a PM.

My only requirement for you to join this thread is that you have a little fun with it!

(OOC: I couldn't resist... Horses are my thing! If I may??)

Gabriel's Sister- She's got a big heart and is waiting for the right man to come along and sweep her off her feet.

Height: 5'
Weight: 110lbs
Hair: Brunette, with natural copper highlights, sometimes looks red in the sun
Eyes: Coffee Brown

~~~
Jessica was exercising one of the horses when the commotion in the driveway pulled her attention. Sharp brown eyes watched the interaction, and she knew better than to even try to ask Gabe what happened... She turned her attention back to Jet.
The black gelding moved through his paces easily, and gave his head to the bit, obeying the pressure from her legs as well. What freedom to be on the back of a horse. She wouldn't trade it for anything.
"Whoa now Jet," she murmured to the gelding as she brought him to a stop and patted the side of his neck. She leaned over the saddle and burried her face in his mane. For only being 4 years old, Jet was almost ready to be sold. He could do anything. But as she lay against his neck, something caught her ear. Donny? She lifted her gaze to the driveway again, suddenly noticing the woman who was talking to Gabe. Boy, and didn't she look 'city girl' to boot.
"Be nice Gabe," she muttered under her breath as she dismounted the gelding and led him over to the gate, "Dear God, help that poor woman."
I have edited the story so that there is not one sister, but two sisters. The two of them are twins and one of Gabe's most prized treasures.
*The second twin is, as far as I know, reserved.
OOC:
The other sister:
Height: 5'
Weight: 115
Hair color: Closer to auburn than brunetter, the red in her hair is more pornounced than in Jessica's.
Eye color: A lighter shade of brown, almost caramel, in color.
Lee watched the woman storm off in the bright red sports car and simply laughed. Really now what had the silly woman expected? Her brother didn't have the reputation for being the surliest man alive for nothing. Still chuckling to herself she couldn't help but wonder when all these flashy little gold diggers wouldn't give up and realize that her brother was smart enough to smell their kind a mile away. Just because he talked slow and deliberatly they assumed he was stupid and would be easy to manipulate around their perfectly manicured fingers.
In Lee's mind that just showed how stupid THEY were.
Heading toward the barn because she'd seen Jessica and Jet return she noticed the woman on the porch and muttered a soft, "Shit!" under her breath. The woman practically screamed "city girl" which would annoy Gabriel to no end of distraction. She also looked soft and like she wouldn't know what a hard day's work was, from where Lee was standing. Still first impressions were often wrong and Lee would reserve judgement. She just hoped Gabe didn't scare the poor thing off before they had a chance to meet her, despite looking like a city girl she also appeared to be rather nice.
Heading toward Jessica she reached her just in time to hear her mutter, "Dear God, help that poor woman." Her sisters comment made her laugh softly and she grinned as she reached her sister and the horse.
"I think she'll be alright. Gabe hasn't scared her off the porch quite yet. Maybe she's made of sterner stuff than she appears."
OC:
Hmmm . . . Ladies, we may have ourselves a man to play Gabe. I've been writing with him for a short time and I love it so far. He should really be able to bring the mean side out in Gabe.
Lol, oh! I'm entertaining a very amusing thought. I wonder how well he will be able to juggle his emotions? I'm in one of those moods tonight where everything is funny and makes you laugh without cause.
Must have been that chocolate I made . . . :eek:
OOC:
lol...I'm sure he'll manage if you think he's up to the task!
You made chocolate?!!! wow!
OOC: Yeeha! I can't wait to see this thread running!! *runs off to find chocolate*
OOC:
I love chocolate!!! Who doesn't??? Chocolate is a woman's best friend . . . well . . . besides diamonds. Men can be, but aren't they ever odd? :rolleyes:
HEY!!! MEN!!! I have two women!!! Who need two gentlemen to sweep them off their feet!!! Can you help me out??? I would greatly appreciate it . . . Yes, I would. ;)
Had to think about it a moment . . . :devil:
But, who am I kidding? As odd as you men are I can't help it! I love men to death!!! Which may or may not be a good thing . . . :heart:
