It was painful to hear her sing "I love Rock N Roll." She just doesn't have the voice for that song.

But I survived and my nieces love me. :)

p.s. Ear plugs are a great invention! I still had my hearing after the show. It was loud enough even WITH the ear plugs!

LMAO I can't believe you wore earplugs at a concert.

*praying I'm never that old or practical* :p

Did I mention that I took newspapers along to read, too? :p

Damn, we had to turn out the lights in the suite though for the show. I should have figured that, but I obviously haven't been to a concert in awhile. Hard to read in the dark, but the papers were popular at intermission! I shared.

I'm not a Britney fan. It was a really really long 90 minutes in my life.

p.s. You couldn't see the earplugs, I used those little green foam things that you twist up and stick in your ears. They just cut the decibal level a bit but it was still LOUD!

90 minutes?

Respect!

I believe, I wouldn't have survived.

Or better: She wouldn't.

OMG! Those two are not even close. I would have cringed.

Oh, the sacrilege!!!

How dare she bastardize an anthem of my youth! Britney Spears is hasn't got half the talent Joan had in her middle finger!

talent?

who cares, she's a good looker; turn down the sound, and just watch her shake that money-maker

LOL!

Cheyenne, once again you remind me of me.

Many moons ago, I took my baby sister to a Bon Jovi concert. I think I was the oldest one there--except for the very large, very bored daddy with the pained expression on his face, who was standing watch over about a half dozen pre-teen Madonna look-alikes.

Yep, very very loud. And I really thought I would be crushed by a million little teeny-boppers frantically trying to get in--general admission, you know...

And I am alive to tell the tale...

Brittney's ok--she grew up not too far from where I live--good ol' southron girl, like me, only I'm not blonde, or that scrawny

She loves rock & roll?

would she know it if it hit her over the head like a lead balloon?

I like Britney, she really is okay for a pop star, but I have had to limit her to my kids. She seems to be losing more clothes than I want my girls to see. Did she dress any better while in concert?

My kids are into Nsync and the Backstreet Boys. Okay, I admit it I am into them too. There is something about 5 cute guys running around a stage.

"led zeppelin" mighta been more appropriate

I have a few bricks left from a Wall I was helping build... need them?

It's obvious, without a doubt, that Joan Jett is by far better. What's with these Y2K teenie boppers and "moder rockers" doing 70s & 80s covers? They just suck!

the reason they are doing 70's and 80's covers is beacuse they are a bunch of no talent hacks that can't write their own music . pretty soon you're gonna have christina aguilera singing "smells like teen spirit" or black hole sun" or something assinine like that . the whole teeny bopper thing pisses me off . it's the record companies force feeding kids these shitty acts(i refuse to call them artists) so they can put asses in seats and money in their poket . you know gulliable teenagers are , if enough people say somehting is cool , they're gonna buy it , no matter how shitty it is . what it comes down to is that i have absolutley no respect for artists(and i use the term very loosly) that i have more talent than . because i know i suck .

whew that one got me fired up....lol

Stevie...

lol Well, I've always said, if you care about something be passionate about it! :)

This reminds me of a discussion I had with some of my friends.. All these uptight people say how heavy metal and the like make teens violent. The only time in my life listening to music has made me want to hit someone was when I was forced to listen to Britney Spears. I have never heard her do a rendition of I Love Rock and Roll, and I hope I never will, because that will probably make me quite angry, it is like sacrilige. All these little teen stars today, they're not just "supposed to be setting an example" they really are, and they want to be setting an example, they're targeting the younger age group, and doing an awful job of it, this is almost leading me into my Cosmo rant, but I won't even start on that one.. Anyhoo, my point is that pop music, today's pop music anyway, is empty. It is emotionless, it's written by people who can't sing and don't look good, performed by people who can't sing and look good, solely to make money. There is no feeling in these songs, that is what bothers me about them. Music is supposed to be expression, if this music expresses anything, it must be greed, and to an extent, lust, aren't these lovely values to be teaching our preteens? I see twelve year olds walking around wearing less cloth than is in one of my pairs of boxers, this bothers me a lot...

I may not be making a whole lot of sense, it's been a long day, and I'm tired...

I'm glad Cheyenne cause we love you too!! I probably wouldn't have lasted the entire concert, I'm proud of you for doing that for your nieces :)

It just goes to show you that nothing is sacred anymore... but if Britney EVER lays a hand (or her shitty local cords) on a Beatles' or Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, or Starr solo song... HEADS WILL ROLL!!!

It gets worse, people

I assumed incorrectly that she sang "I love Rock N Roll" during her concert as an accomodation to all of us geezers who were there hauling in the younger Britney fans. It tortured us, but I thought her intent was good. Now I'm told that this song is actually included on her third album (cd for you youngsters) just released! That means you could ALL hear it on the radio sometime! God help us all.

As for her clothes, I don't think it was nearly as bad as I expected. She does a lot of costume changes, rarely singing two songs in a row in the same outfit. Some were skimpy, some weren't. She'd actually make a really pretty ballerina if she ever put her hair up and danced ballet in RL.

Do you mean that she should just shut up and dance?
