TORRANCE, CA (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE)

-- Sculptor Daniel Edwards, who this week announced a controversial dedication "Nude Britney Spears Giving Birth" at Capla Kesting Fine Art in Brooklyn's Williamsburg gallery district, is one of many entertainment guests who have been interviewed on the Send2Press Podcast. The Podcast is hosted by PRSA and ASCAP member Christopher Simmons.

A nude Britney Spears on a bearskin rug while giving birth to her firstborn marks a "first" for Pro-Life. According to Edwards, pop-star Britney Spears is the "ideal" model for Pro-Life. His latest sculpture is the subject of a dedication at Capla Kesting Fine Art in what is proclaimed the first Pro-Life monument to birth, in April 2006.

Dedication of the life-sized statue celebrates the recent birth of Spears' baby boy, Sean, and applauds her decision of placing family before career. "A superstar at Britney's young age having a child is rare in today's celebrity culture. This dedication honors Britney for the rarity of her choice and bravery of her decision," said gallery co-director, Lincoln Capla. The dedication includes materials provided by Manhattan Right To Life Committee.

Huh? A multi-millionaire having a baby is a role-model for women? Cuz what, she totally gets sacrifice and actual motherhood without help? Sorry, but that's just...absurd.

The fact that she's a vavpid, brain-dead chain smoking hussy that keeps an infant child in her lap while driving a vehicle seems to be a pretty good reason to be pro-choice, doesn't it?

That and her "movie career" . . .

Don't even talk about the fact that I still feel sorry about the environment this child is growing up in. His parents are both completely nuts in my book.

I actually think this makes a great point for pro-choice.

That was my first thought.
My first thought was "That's bizarre on more levels than my small brain can cope."

Talk about scaping the bottom of the barrel for role models! That's just pathetic.

Crazy rich parents...

Crazy poor parents...

Sorry, I can't feel sorry for the kid.

Oh, I can. Rich doesn't equal happy and famous means going through shit with your crazy parents while the public watches.

Not the most flattering depiction, in my opinion. The statue, that is. *sigh* I don't understand why the decision to have a child is a Pro Life argument. It's not as though she was facing even a tenth of the things (if any) an average woman faces where the Pro Life/Pro Choice argument is even present. Last I checked, having a child with one's husband was a fairly standard thing to do. I think I'm just missing the point.

She's a role model for prolife cuz all the other skanky ho' superstars use birth control or get abortions instead of choosing to bring life into the world.

Which often turns out to be a really good idea, IMHO.

100 million dollars buys a lot of therapy.

Nothing guarantees happiness... but in the grand scheme thing of things, I'd rather have a rich person's problems.

ever have that feeling with a 'really real' newsstory from the popular press that it's an article from The Onion?

No... cause I've noticed how many comedians get their humor from real life shit.

You simply can't come up with the shit real people will do... 'cause there's a tiny voice in your head that says...

"Come on... nobody be that fuckin' stupid!"

Inevitably though...

Sincerely,
ElSol

Married and relatively rich woman wants baby. Married and relatively rich woman has baby.

Still can't see where pro-choice or pro-life comes into this.

A nice take on the situation : link

I love this:

Um, ok -- I must have missed the memo about why it's important to commend "superstars" who bravely decide to become young moms. Oh, I forgot -- these are anti-abortionists; there are no memos! There is no logic! But we should all kiss Britney's ass because she set the courageous example of being young, white, and rich enough to raise a child.

I know! That cracked me up. Her description of the statue was pretty funny, too. :)
