I stuck a shovel in some freshly turned dirt and about 80 of 'em rushed out in all directions. Never saw so many in one place. I guess I opened a portal to somewhere because I've been seeing them all over since.

On the rare occasions that people can access MOD training grounds, the wildlife is spectacular. Tanks and shells don't seem to bother it as much as people.

I like the story of Australia's dinosaur ant.
it was first discovered in 1931 but no one could find it again. People had been looking for it for decades and it was thought to live on the Nullabor plain among ancient tree stumps.
In the 1990s an expedition to find it had been unsuccessful. They were driving back to South Australia when they stopped for a pee break. One of the scientists found he was peeing on a colony, 300 miles from where it was supposed to be...
