Brit special forces fighting in Afghanistan?

SAS skirmish -

I heard something about an SAS unit exchanging fire with a Taliban patrol.

I heard that as well some time yesterday or early this morning. Eastern standard time anyway.

Go Get Em Boys............

if it is true........then it has BEGUN.

Who Dare's Win's

Yep heard about it yesterday GMT .

There's allegedly a unit of the SAS (Revolutionary warfare unit) thats been trainin' in Pakistan and runnin' op's into Afghanistan for the last five year's . Also MI6 agent's(spy's) who after the end of the cold war , moved on to help in the war on drug's workin' in Pakistan/Afghanistan are now hunting Bin Laden down and are hot on his track's.

All this info as been printed in the British press over the last week before anyone say's owt :D

I heard on the TV news that they were just outside Kabul and watched as the Talibans enemies bombed that ammo dump the night after the WTC happened.

I once worked with an old guy who had been a quarter master in the SAS way back in the late 50's and early 60's and he said that they were all madman, except when they were at war then they had iron discipline and were real pro's.

When I read about it a few days ago...

my first thought was how did the SAS get themselves caught out in a shooting match.

They're meant to be highly trained couvert operators (you know, secretly in, slit the throat then silently out) without being detected.

One good thing about it is that at least we know the forces we're up against are shrewder than we probably thought at first.

Mind you, we haven't been told whether they achieved their objective or not. That sort of information is usually kept secret.

:(

there will be no shooting war before the weekend
jack straw is in iran and the pope is in kazachstan when they are both safely home then you will see some kickass

I always thought it'd be much funnier if the SAS motto was 'Game For A Laugh!' instead of 'Who Dares Wins'. Mind you, I guess they're not really aiming for comedy.

Just imagine them ambushing the Taliban soldiers with guns that have a flag that says *bang!* when you pull the trigger.
Or instead of grenades dropping water bombs full of honey.....

The trouble with these covert patrols is. You get in, avoiding the local military and find a place to hide out. Only for some kid herding goats to stumble on you , and raise the alarm

GO BRITS YOU BIG MONUMENTS OF TESTOSTERONE

He can run and hide but it won't work this time. Bin Boy has just been tagged and these boys aren't playing.

I reckon the...

Special Services lot are there as well.

And the Mossad
And the French Foreign Legion
And unemployed KGB operators
And the secret armies from most countries of the world except Trinidad and Tobago who are playing cricket...

Bin Laden we're on our way - someone's going for that $25,000,000 jackpot.

:)

No Mossad -

Mossad isn't anywhere near Afghanistan. Sharon is delighted that this event happened. He's refusing to negotiate with Arafat, even though the US and his own foreign minister are begging him to go ahead. Hamas has stopped all bombings in Israel out of fear that the world will condemn them. Sharon wakes up every day looking for reasons not to talk to Arafat. A loose cannon with a homemade mortar is then portrayed as an attack from the PLO, and the talks are postponed again. Sharon doesn't want peace; he only wants settlements. Normally the US doesn't care, but Israel's aggressive posture will convince Arab states not to cooperate with us, so it's a BIG problem....

Monday the 24th sept

An Israeli woman has been killed in a suspected Palestinian shooting.

The attackers opened fire on the woman's car, apparently from a passing vehicle. An ambulance crew tried to save her life, but she died shortly afterwards.

Talks have been rescheduled for Wednesday

Israel got all pissy cause Jack Straw (foreign secretary) made a slip of the tongue and reffered to Palastine(sp) instead of Palastinians.

"One of the factors that helps breed terror is the anger that many people in the region feel at events over the years in the Palestinian territories."

thats what he said ... Israel thought that he was blaming them for terrorism

They were rescheduled before that because someone fired a home-made mortar, with no damage. Sharon doesn't want peace, never has.

Per Ireland, this is the equivalent of Blair or the IRA calling off all talks because Real (Catholic) IRA or Red (Protestant) Hand did something on their own. Sharons' just looking for excuses with a neat little trap: If conflicts do cease for 48 hours, Sharon can say that Arafat does control ALL of the Palestinians, which is patently false. If it doesn't cease, he won't hold peace talks, which is fine with him.
