The AmeriKKKan Empire can only be destroyed from within, by an uprising of the oppressed masses, right here in the belly of the beast. One of Lenin's slogans from WW1 was "Turn the imperialist war into a civil war!" As preparations for imperialist aggression against Iraq move into high gear, and as ever more vicious assaults upon the working class and the poor, along with vastly increased repression and the drive toward the imposition of an outright police state, take place at home, it is urgent-- it is vitally imperative-- to ratchet up opposition to Bush and the ruling class whose frontman he is.
The anti-war movement has already begun to move beyond the initial phase of purely peaceful, legal demonstrations, with acts of civil disobedience (blacked out by the corporate media) taking place in San Francisco, New York City, and elsewhere. When (there is not much question of "if") Bush launches his attack on Iraq, all those who oppose the war should rise up in a massive outpouring of militant demonstrations, civil disodience, and most importantly, strikes against the war. Only the working class has the social power to STOP the war, by collectively withholding its labor and halting war production and/or the movement of war materials. The fake left reformist misleadership of the unions and the anti-war movement must be cast aside, and a truly revolutionary mass movement built.
