I do have a question concerning that comment. I had some ideas for holidays that aren't part of the contest to write "just for the heck of it" and was wondering if I submitted them early what were the odds I could get them posted on said holiday?

the delay varies a lot. improve your odds by asking in the comments box to be posted on that date, then submit at least a week ahead.

I was thinking of doing something kind of like that. I've never submitted anything yet, so I didn't know there was a "comments box". I was hoping that I wouldn't have a story posted too soon before a holiday, but then I didn't want it too far behind either! lol

I've read around the site that they get pretty busy and have a lot of stories and stuff to sift through daily.
