Have you ever had a moment when editing one of your stories when you find a sentence that you can barely believe was written by you? and you sit there for a second and wonder that you can sometimes craft words so well to evoke a perfect picture?

And sometimes you read over a sentence and wonder how the hell you managed to turn out such a piece of shit phrase.

whats worse is when you go to bed thinking you've written sentence number one and wake up and realize it is actually number two.

Yes... and then someone else reads it and wonders how what I thought was such a perfect picture could be such a sucky piece of shit

and the shit phrase.. they seem to think is a masterpiece that must be preserved for all eturnity.

amen, brutha. :)

I have two stories, written when my muse was relentless. I look at them and think I must've been possessed when I wrote them. The frame of mind I was in then came and went so quickly, I can't even remember it now. It's like being high and having some existential revelation you can't for the life of you remember in the morning.

Most of the time, what I write is number two, complete dog poop. :)

My muse kept me up until 3:30 am last night. Bitch kept refilling the scotch I was sipping at too...

but I am blaming Logo. She put up those pretty pictures when I wasn't around and then blamed me for getting her in the mood to do so. Plus it was one of her stories...(this one) ...that got my muse into slavedriver mode...

The worst is when you've written a number 1 inside a paragraph or idea of number 2 and now are trying to excise the 1 and staple it into a better paragraph or idea. Done that far too many times. It's why I hate editing.

I have whole stories that I can't believe I have written. :| I dunno. I kind of go through head spaces in a 'method' kind of way. I find that the more complex and intelligent my characters, the more flowing and beautiful the language appears. When out of 'that' head space, and looking at it from my own, I sometimes think 'wow, where did I pull that from?' Alternately, the shit I just blame on myself for being lazy. :D

*burp*

And then someone comes along and thinks #1 is actually #2... and #2 is actually #1.

Sincerely,
ElSol

More the latter than the former.

That said I sometimes re-read my stories and think "Dang, this is some sexy stuff!" So at least it turns me on :)

So you're the one that drank all the Scotch....:p

I have a full bottle of Cardhu I'm saving for some uncertain reason

End of Treadjack...

All my phrasing sounds like shit to me, so don't look to me for anything that is meaningful.
