breastforms?? can you enlighten me please? what is a breastform? how is it used?

thanx...
Breastforms are fake breasts worn by transgendered women (MTF). They are more realistic in look, feel, and shape than just stuffing your bra. (Which is why they're more expensive...they are usually made of materials like silicone.)

thank-you........................................... muchly..........

They don't have to be expensive.

I've had several pair of Igia Wonder Forms that have been real nice and cost around $25. They fill me out to a very nice 36-C when I'm wearing a pretty underwire bra, and feel very realistic. Try searching 'Silicone Breast Enhancers' on Amazon.

*confused* Why do those breast forms all have disproportionately small areolas? Having seen a fair number of women nude in locker rooms and that sort of thing, generally I've noticed that areola's are about a third of the width of a breast - about 2 1/2" in diameter for a C-cup breast, 3" for a D.

I dunno...I think it varies pretty greatly. I am about a C-cup, and mine are probably only 1 to 1.5" diameter. Some women have big areolas, some women have small ones. Some areolas are much darker than the surrounding skin, some are light - mine are about the same color as my skin, you can barely see the areolas.

Interesting side note - there is such a thing as "areola repigmentation" or "areola definition" - if you don't like yours, if they're different colors or just too light...you can have them tattooed on to increase the color. Examples here. It's commonly done on mastectomy patients.

Aw shucks, I just look stuff up a lot, and I remember the weird stuff I read. :)

Hmmm, it really depends on what sort of breast form you need. The thing is transgender specific breastforms are so expensive, mostly because companies see that there isn't much competition or variety in that area of production, and can justify raising the price. Also since in mainstream society, crossdressing is shameful, people won't really complain loudly. My personal method for breastforms are cheaper, but somewhat complicated. First you buy a nubra, some suggest the unpadded ultralite, but I prefer padded, as it tends to stick to the chest better, AAs are best, but an A can work ok. Then what you need is a pair of either foam, or I personally prefer small A/B size silicone enhancers. And then you need a push up or demi pocket bra, or a push up or pocket bra with sleeves you can insert the silicone inserts into. Strapless ones are quite rare, but immensely useful.

First you take a shower and wash the skin, avoiding any lotion or moisturizer, per nubra instructions. Then you stick them on with your nipples close to the clasp and high on the sticky part. Then hook the bras together carefully. This will push your natural skin up and together, creating cleavage. Also, since it is your natural skin that peeks over the bra, it is even better. Next, you want to insert the silicone or foam inserts into the pockets of the bra. And put the bra on over the nubra. The correct bra size...you have to experiment with. You want the smooshed up skin to gently touch the bra and seamlessly create the illusion of a breast filling the cups, the push up nature of the bra with the pads should help. If you can find a perfect strapless bra, then you can wear sleeveless dresses (if your shoulders aren't too broad) and other moderately low cut outfits with convincing cleavage and breast mass. This works for people of small to average size who want average breasts.

If you are sort of big, and need matching big breasts or want to be above the mean breast size, you have to go to the specialist forms. Mastectomy forms might be cheaper, but I'm not certain how mastectomy prosthetic retailers will react to a TG inquiring about breastforms, especially since many seem to be connected exclusively to breast cancer related hospital groups, and state to be by appointment only. With these forms, you usually need medical glue as well to affix the form to the skin. The work well, I hear, and some even work well in water.

Hypothetically, there could be a best solution. On SomethingAwful, I've seen images of women wearing breasts prostheses which are gigantic. They don't seem to have visible seams, seem to withstand wet conditions and seem fairly well matched to skin tone, excluding the nipple. And yet these must be removable. If someone could apply this technology from this unconventional porn to TG prostheses, that would be awesome.

SomethingAwful...the home of Photoshop Phriday? What part of the site did you see these on? ;)

breastforms (2nd post)

....having researched the topic rather comprehensively, i concluded that the original supplier suggested by Etoile is the best value for money.

My resources are limited so i'm going to start off by buying silicone pads to place inside my bra. I'm really excited, really looking forward to what it's going to feel like with those silicone enhancers instead of... socks and tissues.
