What can only be described as a coordinated attack on our air security, hundreds of TSA screeners at several airports have called in sick this week.

"This will definitely affect the flying public who we (are) sworn to protect," Hydrick Thomas, president of the national TSA employee union, told CNN.

TSA spokesman Michael Bilello said the agency is "closely monitoring the situation" and that "screening wait times remain well within TSA standards," although that could change if the number of call outs increases.

At New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, as many as 170 TSA employees have called out each day this week, Thomas tells CNN. Officers from a morning shift were required to work extra hours to cover the gaps.

Call outs have increased by 200%-300% at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where typically 25 to 30 TSA employees call out from an average shift according to a local TSA official familiar with the situation.

I was gonna post this. No wall and a shutdown that quite literally puts Americans at risk.

What do you mean they aren't willing to work for free? What a bunch of greedy assholes!

Maybe they are meeting with their own personal finance lawyer trying to find some way to pay for food and rent and gas without a paycheck. /s

This is the only TSA related image I have.

The media has been too busy reporting about Russian collusion to talk about the current Ebola outbreak in the Congo. It's been going on for like 6 months, and I read an article about a month ago that reported vaccine and medication shortages.

In 1970 the population of Africa was 300 million. In 50 years the population has grown to 1.3 billion.

Uh oh.....looks like congress better grab their thighs and start doing their jobs.

Or the (D)'s can just capitulate, wait a little with the whole globalist initiative and give Trump his wall.

What news are you watching? The Ebola outbreak is all over the news.

What would be the point of that? We need that wall like Mexico does -- and I don't see them offering to pay for it.

This isn't an attack on air security; this is an attack on Donald Trump's disrespect for people who actually work. I look forward to other categories of workers doing vital jobs in the U.S. social structure to walk off the unpaid jobs as well so that Trump (and some Trumpettes on this board) can "get it" about who's doing work in this country.

Speaking of air security and The Wall...

Little over an hour ago I heard, and then saw, 4 heavies fly over. They were headed south.

I don't understand this post.

You were talking about "air security." If you saw "heavies" flying south, how does that relate to "air security"? How much blood is there in a churchmouse? The answer to that question has exactly the same relevance as the Wall has to air security.

Heavies move troops.

Oh wait, is Heavies not a commonly known name for those giant 2 rotor helicopters?
