Branching Out Redux

I have noticed that most people post in pretty much the same threads or same types of threads. Typically people only get to know a handful of people but notice some posters and never get a chance to say hello.

So here is the chance. A free for all type of setting giving those who hadn't found a niche or who wanted to "branch out" and meet more people a place to do so.

It can be intimidating to "branch out" and meet new people, as many stay in the same types of threads with people they have become comfortable with and most threads have gotten so long with the same group dynamic it is hard to fit into it after it has went of for thousands of pages.

The first "branching out" thread went really well. It was started almost a year ago, and has grown to intimidating proportions - thus the redux.

So hello to those who would like to branch out and meet someone new - or say hi to someone that they don't post with often but have noticed.

Good morning ladies. It is a good idea, what happened to the old thread? Did I kill it???

Hope you both have a great day.

Morning Kw I don't think you killed it. I think CC is just giving newer people a chance to blend in better.

Good morning to all, oldies and newbies....

I enjoy each and every thread that I post in and all the folks that I meet here.

Hi ya rosy, and thanks! We don't post in many of the same threads with frequency, but it is always lovely to have your presence.

No way KW! That thread was at 70 pages, which is wonderful that it was going so well - but it had gotten to the point where it was mostly the same posters, so thus the redux.

Hi ya Jay! I do too, it is so nice to be able to meet and talk with so many different people - with so many different thoughts and ideas to add to the mix.

Hello Emmie! Thanks. Great name.

Hi ya Bman.

I definitely like meeting new people and i'm glad you did this CC. I know i don't post in many places that alot of the people who have posted do so it's good to meet those i don't know and say hi again to those that i do.

Hi everybody,
I branced out once or twice on the old thread, figure I should on this one too;)

Hi everyone...thought I'd "register" myself here. rosylady was sweet enough to welcome me personally the other night... thanks again and care to mention exactly where in Canada you might be located rosy? As for some others, the response to my venturing onto these boards has been somewhat surprising...it would appear there are alot of board-shy people out there who seemingly prefer to go the way of pm's and chat. What's that about?

Hello and welcome sugar!

The BB is only representative of a very small amount of people who visit Lit. Some people never get involved with the BB and prefer the chat forum (which I have tried a couple of times, but it just really wasn't to my liking). Some prefer just communicating through PM's, which is great for personal one on one types - but not so much for those that aren't here to "meet" anyone. Some just don't care for the group dynamics - to each their own I suppose.

ditto what CC said. the only advantage that chat has is that its damn awkward to cyber with pm's;)

Dont mind me I am a smart ass

Thank you for the welcome capricious or do I call you chic :)?
While I don't really mind the PM's and chats per se, I do like a group dynamic too. I've encountered some interesting resistance though...as well as some peculiar come ons

You can call me CC, most do. I enjoy the group dynamic as well, and like meeting all kinds of different people.

I tend to ignore most of the absurd PM's I get. That is to be expected in a place like this I would imagine - although I am sure it would happen anywhere. I figure those that don't care to correspond with me on the level I chose, don't really care to correspond with me at all. lol
