One of the most excellent showman in rock history. I doubt I'll ever forget the "Serious Moonlight" tour. I noticed elsewhere (nearby... ~LOL~) what I'll term a complaint that he ripped off another performer in terms of style.

Creativity is combining elements in a new way. Musicians in particular cannot help but be influenced by what they hear, all performers observe those who practice the same craft.

Or, as Carl Sagan put it:
"In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe."

Let's Dance!

What was the television special/concert where he performed with Tina Turner?

They rocked.

Bowie was the shit.

Pre-MTV. Love it.

Fashion!

We are the goon-squad and we're coming to town

Best Album...

Hunky Dory.

And, for the record Lukky, I agree about combining efforts.

I prefer Bowie over T-Rex...it's just, well, yeah, he kinda "borrowed" more than one idea from him.

I saw a couple Bowie concerts, including Serious Moonlight.

He's beyond yummy.

he borrowed every note from Bach. ~shrug~

You can continue to prove your point. And you're right.

Which totally bugs me.

Still.....I don't know what's "still." My cold is bugging me and the board is slooooow.

Still. :p

On the other hand, draaah, I love the hair color in the current av, and I think you'd qualify to work as one of his backup singers, stage right. :rose:

I think I'd melt if I got that close to Bowie.

How fun would a threesome be with him and Iman? I'd die.

Play around with the color all you like; the av is practically yours.

la la la la la, mi mi mi mi mi

When I was a teenager, too young to get into clubs, we'd go and hang around outside, just to see who was coming and going, and yes...to meet older boys.
One night we were outside a punk club when a limo pulled up, and David Bowie, along with about 6 bodyguards, got out and went inside.
I thought I'd melt into a puddle on the pavement.
Yummy? yes, indeed.

Kind of funny that you post this thread seeing I thought to my self last night....
I need some David Bowie Mp3's, I dont have any, I will download some.
Now I have a bout 5, I have this one song of his in my head and I dont now the lyrics or the name of the song, just the beat, rhytm and notes. Its pissing me off!!! I wish I knew the name of the song so I could DL it!

David Bowie, David Bowie...
Hmmm.....
Wasn't he that guy from the movie Labyrinth?
I think he predates my time.
Or at least came before I really began to listen to music.

I heard last week that Bowie is an unsigned artist at the moment. So is Rod Stewart. Another two victims of the Maria Carey round of cutbacks- they are probably blaming Sept11th! but it's more likely the impossibility of getting any airplay for anyone over the age of 25.
And you, my American friends, still have "Pop Idol" to look forward to!
Be afraid!
Cheers

musically, he's ok. the man himself is one slick-ass customer!

who's seen the vid to "I'm Afraid of Americans?" being chased around by Trent Reznor with that psycho look on him would creep just about anyone out!
