The Canterbury Women's Rugby Club has produced a 2007 Calendar a la Calendar Girls with them in suggestive poses. They are raising money for Breast Cancer Care. The cover picture is of the whole team jumping in a Haka - topless with one arm covering their nipples. One of them said:

"We did it lots of times to get the picture right. Luckily we had the field to ourselves."

Dr, Poia Rewi, Senior Lecturer in Maori Studies at Otago University, New Zealand said, apparently to a chorus of agreement:

"I think Maoris would be offended by this."

Canterbury, Kent, UK is so far from being offended that the calendars have sold out.

Og (who missed out)

(Based on a report on The Times, Times2 today; and local newspapers.)

I'm horribly offended that the calendar is not offered outside of Canterbury.

I was wrong - Calendar still available!

The calendar can still be bought:

Hmmmm 10 pounds for purchase by post...... so roughly 22 dollars.... 2.5 goes to cancer reasearch....

decisions decisions

I wonder if I could get my Rugby team to do a calendar like this.

That'd be fun.

I'd like to have been the photographer.

It must have taken for ever to get fifteen topless women in the air with not one nipple showing.
