Every Monday night/Tuesday morning at 2-4 am I'll be co-hosting the internet radio show Boston Beach Party! It's sure to be a hit so you all should stop on by. We'll be playing all sorts of boss music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Word, me too. I was on the phone, my stomach all butterflies trying to be the first caller or whatever to win those tickets... I was so pissed that I didn't get them.

I would have paid the money for a ticket, but I'm pretty sure that if I wasn't on the winner list I wouldn't have been able to get into the venue. Can't wait to turn 21!

You know, at one time I had hair like anyone of the Bangles (at least the brunette ones)...jeez.... I have nice hair now, just for the record...

Eric Burdon was truly, The Man. I was overcome with musical bliss when I found that clip.

It's sad that he overplays everything when he sings these days. His timing and delivery was spot on as a youngster.

I can't say I listen to him sing very often these days...

But back when he was a youngster... hot damn! I think that he is (or was, anyway) on the list of the top five most soulful white guys of the last 50 years, hands down.

They got the band, or a facsimile thereof back together a few years back, and did some shows. Added in flutes, and violins, and other crap, and he just hammed up the songs. It was like he was possessed by William shatner or something. There are videos on Youtube, but I don't know that I would seek them out. Still soulful in moments, but better the purity of the originals.

Like you said, easily one of the most soulful white male vocalists of the modern era.

Shame you cant root thru mine and my friend's music collection.. Although my friend seemed to end up with all the funk and soul vinyls dammit! lol

Shaft has to be played, best movie song ever in my opinion. But I do love issac hayes so maybe I am biased.. Oh... Bus stop by the fatback band is another fave of mine.
