Nothing to do but lurk around and check out lit pics. Anyone else doing the same?

I thought all the graves were dug during the day.

I often get bored at my job also, (6PM-4AM) at a newspaper. Gotta be careful what I log onto, even on my personal laptop, but do manage to visit lit every so often. It does break up the night a little.:)

what do you do there, at the paper?

I'm one of the people who arainges the articles, pictures and ads. You know, that irrating person who puts, "continued on page four." When there seems to be plenty of room on the page where the article began...

that's pretty cool

tell me about some of the fuck-ups? i know papers have them all the time. doesn't have to be one of yours but feel free to share

We try to keep them to a min, but mostly it's a wrong page quoted. We get plenty of calls bringing it to our attention. Once in a great while, we entirely miss putting the rest of the article in. You can imagine the uproar that causes! That happens very rarely though. Most of the mistakes are editorial, or miss quotes, things like that. The paper prints an apology or retraction. I just help put the thing together, I don't edit or write it. If I see an obvious mistake though I do bring it to the attention of an editor.

would you like to write for them?

I really don't have the training or talent to assemble an article quickly. I do hate how some writers/editors purposly only tell one side of a story to malign someone, just to sell papers, or be "politicaly correct". I've already been told to keep my opinions to myself in some cases, or else.
