Yes, the spelling was intentional.
However....

What is your favorite board game?
Mine is Risk. I played it as a kid, and I played it as an adult, and it lost nothing in the transition.

Clue, no one else I know likes to play it anymore so I bought the computer version.

Not trying to spoil your parade but Risk has been my favorite for as long as I can remember. Have you ever played the PC version? I haven't but I was wondering if it was any good.

Risk is good. I have played an old version for DOS which was okay. It is better with people. We had an old gunny who used to make us drink his Marine Corps coffee (a few drops of water to every scoop of coffee), eat jalepenos, and play Risk on every 14 hour nightwatch. Of course you hoped and prayed to all the gods and buddas that he had lucky dice!

Actually, since I am the only one in my family that likes Risk, I play a lot of Clue since it is my next favorite.

By the way, a good new party game is Jenga-Truth or Dare.

My honey seems to think so he can play it for hours and hours at a time.

OHMYGOD me too. Same problem, same solution, except it's easier to cheat with the computer version :D Not that I would do that of course.

sounds like fun!!!

ever since I can remember our family

has played board games and cards together.

Risk

Scrabble is an intense competitive game w/us

Hummmble.. a game where you hum a tune and someone has to guess either the song or the artist

Crack The Case is a fun mystery game.... kinda like clue but paraphrased.

Taboo is fun with a lot of people

And dirty pictionary has to be my favorite! Just the guesses will have you laughing so hard you'll be in tears. Try it! note: can't be found in stores, you must create the game yourselves

Hey, has anyone here ever played Nightmare? I'm not sure if it ever made it out of Australia, but it was (and still is) a great game. It's one of those board games that requires a VCR as it comes with a video you watch as you play the game. It had a horror theme and played as one of six mythical creatures like Khufu the mummy or Elizabeth Bathory the vampire. The goal of the game was to collect six keys that enabled you to enter the center of the board (the board was set up like a circle not unlike Trivial Pursuit) and land on the Nightmare Card pile. When you landed on it you pick up the cards and draw one of them, which have written on them the greatest fears of the people playing. You win if you pick someone else's fear, but lose if you pick yours. The video is just a single person called the Gatekeeper, who every few minutes dishes out punishments, rewards our just scares the shit outta you. The great thing about the game was it's hectic nature. You only have 60 minutes to complete the game, and if you have more than 2 players you really have to be good to beat the time limit. By the end of the game you'll be incredibly nervy and edgey, trying to move as fast as possible and keep up with the game. No other board game has given me the rush that this one has, it's just so fantastic. There were also many add-ons to Nightmare, which different videos being brought out that changed the game until it was almost something new but equally as good. The official sequel to it was called Atmosfear which, while looking much better, wasn't as good as it wasn't as hard and therefore not as hectic.

So, anyone played it? :)

Hmmm, quite a few come to mind...

Used to love to play Trivial Pursuit, but no one in my family will play anymore :(

Risk is always good, especially the epic battles when you are losing, only control Australia and have stockpiled a huge army just waiting for the invasion.

I just got Clue for the computer with a box of Cheerios, but it does seem fun.

Monopoly

Scrabble (have played in English and Espanol)

Taboo, Pictionary..

And my new fave board game is Cranium, got it last year for Christmas, it's sold at Starbucks and is a combination of trivial pursuit, pictionary, charades, etc...it's a lot of fun

No one will play this with me either. I cannot help that I have all this useless stuff floating around in my head.
