Boot and shoe fetishes. I remember a sex psychologist on television saying...

that it is possibly conditioned into some people from an early age.

A baby/young child, on the floor, crawling, relies on the mother for security, but mainly sees shiny leather boots and shoes.

He/she associates the boots with a feeling of security.

Any comments?

Well, its possible. Even quite understandable.

But most people's mom's don't run around in knee high boots (okay- that's what I find sexy shoe wise). Mine certainly didn't. She was a high heels or sandles kinda gal.

I do see your point though. Could this be why fashions recycle as well, you think?

Having read a fair bit on the origins of various kinks (paraphilia, to use the medical term), I'd say it might be a factor.

The noted sex researcher John Money proposed the "lovemap" theory, in which all humans form a psychological construct of an idealized mating partner early in life.
The lovemap is based on parents, siblings, caregivers, etc. that the infant comes into contact with. There are any number of things that can influence the formation of this lovemap.

Harder to explain the erotic attraction of bondage, I'd think....I know I was fascinated from an early age, but couldn't name a particular influence.

According to Money, this lovemap would be pretty much formed by age 3
