Does anyone else feel that being in the uk restricts their ability to get a hook up for some fun on lit? There seems to be far less activity on here at this time of night that the wee hours when the US becomes active...I've had some of my best sessions at our am time when the us girls are getting ready to go to sleep...

...though please if you feel like a hook up this evening..feel free to say hi :)

I think it's like a six hour time difference Just depends on what time you are active

Yes I know but I usually head to bed about 11 unless I'm on holiday. I'm such a bear with a sote head if I have lack of sleep.

I can relate to the issue. Germany here. I also seem to suffer from the time zone issue. So please all you ladies from Asia to the Atlantic:where are you when we are awake?

Nice girls stay up, in my experience. Or don't go to bed at all, if you are pleasant enough to them.

The UK can't be that bad compared to the opposite side of the planet from anywhere...

I have a friend out your way. :)

It is 8 hours from me to the UK, 17 hours to Oz. I have simultaneously lived in multiple time zones for very nearly the entire seven months that I have been a member here. If you enjoy each other's company enough, you find a way to make it work. :rose:

Instant messaging, PMs, Skype, texting, etc. are great if you can get together at the same time, but not everyone can, or is able to all of the time. Email and voice/video clips are the go-to choice when you just can't seem to make your schedules line up.

Something fun that I discovered quite by accident is posting on threads together. Of course you would think of that for a friend who can respond immediately, but perhaps not for someone who might not be around for several more hours. But if you pick a thread that doesn't get a lot of traffic, you very likely will have it to yourself for a while, maybe even for days. Or you could always start your own, and simply bump it when you want to have a little posting fun with your Far Away Friend.

There are lots of options, keep trying them on until you find one that fits! and have a back-up plan, too. ;)

Good Luck! :cattail:

I'm in the UK but I don't usually get on Lit until around 12 midnight - I guess that's too late for most UKers?

If you think it's quiet now, in the early days of the Lit forum it was even quieter! ;)

UK'er here too

Northern ireland to be precise
I nearly always find someone, though from 10am-12am is really quiet

Lol....I should post more posts that have more thought put into them....this one has had some replies....yay!

I identify with this thread, being in South Africa, I can seldom chat, and combine that with the fact that I get little time alone anyway, live chatting is all but non existent for me.

Hmmm

It can be a struggle bridging a conversation across multiple time zones, however when you discover and develop a connection with someone, you do what it takes to work things out. I had a person I was very close to (and miss, dearly) from England and I would regularly set my alarm for 3am, my time...8am, her time, simply so we could have some uninterrupted time together... Now, I know this may be an exception to the rule, but my point is....you do what it takes to maintain the connection, if it's important enough...

I totally agree with Mojo. I had a playmate who was on the East Coast of the States, while I was in the UK. I would stay up late, or she would and I'd get up early. It's tough and can be infrequent (if you have work etc.) but it can be done and in many cases with the sort of people you can meet on here it can be well worth it!

Just the fact that when I read this thread at near 11pm my time, not one respondent was still on-line and I am in Western Australia, shows this is an issue. But we are more connected globally through the use of the net than humanity has ever been before in its history. It does just take a bit of organising as Mojo said.

I've had some great fun sharing the writing of a story with a couple of ladies where we took turns adding to the tale and consequently developed a friendship. Sometimes you just have to jump in and see where it takes you!

I'm from the UK and work a permanent night shift so I'm not on here until around 5am. There is rarely anyone from the UK around, it is midnight EST and people in the antipodes are at work. This really is the Teatime of the Soul.

I like the UK ladies up late evening... matches well with an EST US time frame....
