I've had some books on order for a while through a bookshop, and after that visit that wasn't uncomfortable at *all* putting an order in through the grandmother at the front desk, it still hasn't come in. I've gotten tired of waiting and cancelled the order so I can pick them up through Amazon or somewhere.

I'm ordering Screw the Roses, Loving Dominant, New Bottoming Book, but now that I can get any book I want, I'm staring at the Library link like it's a candy store.

Are there any other Must Haves for the bookshelf before I send the order off? The three I'm definitely ordering are books I've borrowed but want copies of my own. I haven't seen any others on the library list and a title is a little vague to go by, but I'm thinking of getting 2 or 3 others so, of the huge collection of titles, I'm looking for suggestions on any that may be better than others.

Woo hoo! Enjoy! I like Screw The Roses best of all the non fiction kink books I've scanned so far.

Different Loving and SM101 are also good.

More on the poly side of things, but The Ethical Slut was helpful for me.

Perhaps CutieMouse will drop by with recommendations. She has read a pretty extensive list of related books and will likely be generous with her thoughts on them. A PM in her direction might work too.

My own favorite so far is The Loving Dominant. Like Syd, I've also read The Ethical Slut and liked it quite a bit.

Also enjoyed "The Loving Dominant" but if you aren't a full time sub living with your Dom it can be a little frustrating, since it's written from her viewpoint of living it 24/7.

I ended up buying Screw the Roses, Loving Dominant, New Bottoming Book, and filled out the rest of the order with New Topping Book, Knotty Boys (1), and Knotty Boys (2). B felt like some reading material also.

I can't wait to bookworm it up!

I added Different Loving and SM101 to the next cart though, and would love more "must have" suggestions for the next order. The library link is substantial and I plan on eventually getting my hands on all of them but a priority list helps.

Thanks for the suggestions! :rose::rose:

I'm currently in the middle of Consensual SM.

It's good for the ideas gathering and whatnot. I've been skipping over the negotiations part, since I don't negotiate scenes with people, but have grabbed a few interesting points, things to think about regarding myself, my relationship, etc from it.

I think it also does a rather decent job of talking to people who aren't fulltime 24/7 and not excluding them. Some other books, as pointed out, are slanted that way.

Try these

"Eleven Minutes" Paulo Coelho A great story and a good discussion of pain/pleasure.

"His Mistresses Voice" unsure of author D/s

"Exit to Eden" Ann Rice D/s

They are all very hot.

yes, i have noticed that all books are 'gay' oriented, something that I am not interested in.
