Perhaps, based on some of the PM's I've received (thank you, btw), I should elaborate.

In my every day life, I am a go-getter. I don't sit around at home waiting for my partner, I work hard, I play hard. I am not someone who would be considered submissive by any means.

But I have discovered, both through reading and through some play with partners, that being bound, gagged, tied, restrained, whipped, tortured, and otherwise humiliated or punished gets me off more than just about anything. I have few "hard" limits (scat play and urine play being two examples of things I'm not willing to even experiment with)--when it comes to trying new things and allowing my partner free reign for his or her imagination, there's little I won't go along with.
