Dude. I own guns. Guns aren’t inherently bad or good. They are merely tools. I have 12 and 20 gauge shotguns, a 30.06 and a 30/30. Plus a 9 mil beretta. Slowing down the purchase of guns to do a proper background check only hurts those that have lost the right to own a gun (felon or possibly psychological issues) period. I’ve never been in trouble plus I’m in the system so I can wait the 24 hours or so it takes if I wanted to purchase something new. It doesn’t stop you from owning a firearm. So you claim you said no such thing, yet immediately say that "maybe part of the responsibility of owning a gun should come with some mandatory training."
If that's not claiming that you don't get the Right to own a gun without training, then I can't see the difference.
Further, driving a car isn't a Constitutional Right. Thus, you cannot compare the two as equal because that's saying that someone can't exercise that Right without "permission."
And of course you close with "slowing down the process for background checks and requirements for basic gun safety and training are not infringing on your rights. Just because you can’t get the gun you want in 5 minutes." Which is essentially you saying that no one needs that Right anyway.
And yet here you are trying to avoid the truth of what you say. Face it, you have no argument other than "guns bad" and you're doing everything you can to try and bolster that position by shucking and jiving instead of rational thought/debate.
You and your friends are shooting animals or targets that pose no threat. I’m taking when you are in immediate danger. Any schmuck can shoot when their life isn’t on the line. You can take classes to teach you how to shoot under duress. Take your friends there and watch them all fail miserably. my oldest and I took one with a cop friend of ours it not even remotely in the same ballpark. The vast majority of gun owners are worthless at shooting them? I'm not sure what folks you run with, but the folks I'm familiar with...... I wouldn't bet against them not missing their intended target.... as far as requirements are not restrictions? If someone is unable to meet the requirements they are restricted from that activity. Thus requirements are restrictions (but I believe I understand your intended thoughts though) the reason I owned a gun safe was an extra layer of security in case of a break in ( being responsible) shouldn't be a requirement... I do like the training aspect, although this as well should be voluntary and funded by the government with qualified people teaching it......
As far as these some of these nut cases go... time after time the current red Flag seemed to be ignored. One more item, why are folks blaming an inanimate object for these tragedies? Is a car responsible for killing someone while the driver is drunk at the wheel? Do you punish the cat for what the dog chewed up? Anyway just my thoughts on this....enjoy your day....
My mistake.... I didn't realize you were speaking about a high stress situation..... when I received some training, one of the situations set up was a confrontation between myself and an aggressive individual at 7 steps distance. My training prop gun never cleared the holster... I'm of small stature in a blink of an eye I'm on the mat ..... eye opener for certain....You and your friends are shooting animals or targets that pose no threat. I’m taking when you are in immediate danger. Any schmuck can shoot when their life isn’t on the line. You can take classes to teach you how to shoot under duress. THAT, right there, is your entire fail.so what if it’s a right?
Are you calling Reagan an anti-civil rights Democrat? The KKK.... in the 80's??
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!
And guess who is still trying to take their guns away??? The anti-civil rights Democrats, same as always.
No. That would be silly. Are you calling Reagan an anti-civil rights Democrat?
No it isn’t. Answer my question just once. Deflect is all you do. Is voting a right? are the republicans infringing on peoples right to vote by requiring ID or not? simple yes or no. Because if you say no then your argument against slowing down gun purchases holds no water.THAT, right there, is your entire fail.
Gun ownership is a Right. Per precedent and the language of the Constitution, it's a Right of "The People." THE TEST to determine if an infringement is Constitutional is; Text, History, Tradition. No it isn’t. Answer my question just once. Deflect is all you do. Is voting a right? are the republicans infringing on peoples right to vote by requiring ID or not? simple yes or no.
