I’d guess it’s because as a bodybuilder, all her previous relationships were shallow, based on physicality and nothing more. She met Scott at a charity event, and they hit it off. For their first date, Scott took her to an Art Museum, the next was to a Planetarium. Unlike her other romantic relationships, Scott didn’t press her for sex - he made it clear he was all about Gina the woman. He was romantic and considerate, and when they did finally sleep with each other, he went down on her and made sure she came first, before they fucked.

I imagined it as basically a jealous friend trying to figure out how this guy is tricking her friend.

Also I got the idea for a submissive, masochist female body builder because it's the opposite of what you usually see. If there is a female body builder, she is usually a dominatrix. In this case, I see it like the high powered CEOs that end up being dominated. She has pushed herself so hard and long to attain physical perfection, now she finds peace in being a sub to her partner.

And the friend the entire time is trying to figure out/ break up this relationship she doesn't understand.

Exactly. A time or two, as they make love Gina begins begging him to get her to climax. He teasingly says, "What will you do for ME if I can get you to cum?" That opens the door for her submission, as she initially offers things like handcuffs, light spankings, etc., then things gradually get kinkier - with Scott's personality adjusting to his lover, becoming more dominant because he senses she loves it.

Yeah, that's along the lines I was thinking. I'm just crap at fleshing out my premises. I can make lots of premises and outlines, but I'm terrible at dialog and details. I know what I want and where I want it to go, I just can't fill in the blanks. Plus funnily enough the actual sex parts of stories bore me now. I mean after 30 years of reading erotic fiction, a penis can only go so many places. I like character interactions and that is the part I'm terrible at.
