Crazy? Not crazy? Sexy? Spooky? Where do I sign up?

some of the photos are compelling, in my opinion, others make me just feel sick knowing that it was probably VERY painful to do that to yourself.

Has anyone ever heard of this guy before?

I have, he has several books of pictures of bod mod persons. Some of them are quite lovely in a scary sort of way.

Yah, I'm still making my mind up. I think that Catman guy is crazier than a (insert something really crazy). It's how I found this guy - I got interested in seeing pictures of the Catman's supposed girlfriend by another thread - and found this Steve guy's site. I'm not sure I'd call him brilliant. There is a chilling sense of beauty. Ever seen the picture Monet did of his dead wife? It's one of my favorite impressionistic paintings - it's hauntingly beautiful and so full of pain. Doing this to yourself, inserting metal into your body and spliting your tongue - it's so science fiction in the future. Like when you see the "punks of tomorrow" in some trendy sci-fi movie.

It' makes me think of a Luis Royo work of art. come to life Haunting, Creepy, Scary. Beautiful? Maybe.

I really like the idea of the heart punched out of the top of the woman's ear. I think it is beautiful and yet subtle.

Whoah! That's awsome! I'd love to ask the Cat individual what the public response is. I know people don't do this stuff for public appeal, but I think it's great that they day "Fuck 'em" to the rest of the worlds opinions. Wow, just, wow. Great site, that guy really is uberpro!

Nope, not for me. And, I don't care if someone else does it, but I think I'd just stare at anything like that, if I knew someone who had it done. I don't like anything foriegn in my body. Nothing! Zip...Nada...Ziltch...Like, no way, dude.

Something about being outside the box in looks gives people a little bit of mystic. I have been wondering about tattoo ink that reacts with black light, might be interesting.

Does this mean I can't bend you over my kitchen table and take advnatage of you? Oh poo.

I've never liked hearts. It's too sweet. Like teddy bears. But the pointy ear thing is neat - it reminds me of a friend in high school who had one ear like that naturally - she got the cartilaged pierced to draw more attention to it because she loved her "fault".

Haven't really heard of the name before but I am reminded of this one chick who works at a rivet bar somewhere in England and she's literally a rivethead. Rivets poking out of her bald head. Odd, striking and kinda hot.

Erk.That sounds a little too much like that movie from the 90's; 'Circuitry Man'.

I just saw something on, I think, the Discovery Channel, about extreme body modification. The cat guy was on there. His speech was difficult to understand due to the nasal and oral modifications he's got. There was another man, Enigma, who was covered in puzzle pieces head to toe, with horns implanted. He was slowly having the pieces inked in shades of blue. He said something like, 'people feel bad about their bodies, and they see me and see that they have possibilities they hadn't thought of, they could be anything they want, they could be blue.' Interesting show.

Sorry, no, but very disturbing at least to me.

I'm not sure I ever thought being blue was a possibility but just goes to show. I do still have this left over high school urge to die my hair really funky shades of blue, green, whatever strikes me fancy. It's tempting especially since I don't think my office would give a rat's pahtoot.

The ink is cool, I think that I would be a bit squicky about having stuff inserted under my skin. Scarification is pretty cool. ( I just had my first cutting done on me a few weeks ago)...

For those seeking more info on body modification, here's a good resource:

I think my big fear would be that it would get dislodged or moved.. and cause internal injuries.

Very intriguing, especially the transdermals. T gets turned off when I seriously consider getting any sort of tattoo, let alone body reconstruction, so this isn't a real life option for me. Still love to behold it.

Very cool work. I used to dislike the way scarring and branding looks, but it's starting to grow on me. And actually, there was one picture in his portfolio of branding that I REALLY thought looked nice.

I don't even have my ears pierced, and I doubt I'll ever get more than one tattoo (I have none currently) but I do like the unique looks of body mods.

Oh, and I remember that "cat man" from an episode of Ripley's Believe it or Not! Anyone else see that episode?
