Haven't been able to shake this idea since I saw James Cameron's Avatar, not sure how many people are into aliens, transgender or hermaphrodites but here's the rough idea.

After the settlers on Pandora are sent back to earth future missions are cancelled and many people are now out of a job. Apart from the manpower now cheaply available there are over twenty undeveloped half-Na'vi bodies beginning to grow inside tanks on Earth as the corporations had begun investing more into the project before their golden goose died.
The undeveloped bodies were scheduled for destruction now having no purpose, many are sold on the black market and smuggled out by ex-employees trying to make ends meet. A few of the remaining blue specimens are taken to the furnace under the supervision of an executive when his teenage daughter comes in to see him at work.
She likes the young forms of the blue people and thinks they're pretty. When her father explains what they are - that people can go into them - she immediately asks for one. He tries to dissuade her but she doesn't budge, and he tells her to pick one out. She does so, it is unfortunately a male body.
Again the father tries to persuade the girl but she is adamant, and the executive is assured by technicians that if he hires a few of them privately they can modify the body before it reaches adulthood and everything is final. He escorts the tank from the facility, allowing the other techs to smuggle the others out in his abscence.
After about a year of the techs working steadily on the body it is matched to her neural pathways and the lungs altered to breathe oxygen. She links to the body for the first time, as tall as her father in it's adolescent form. The girl feels strange in a male body but the technicians promise that it will be female when the alterations are complete.
By the age of fifteen her father dies of natural causes, leaving her to take up his role in the company (or else go broke). She is not very talented at first and is demoted to a lower secretarial position, only the influence of a family friend securing her employment, but after a few years she is experienced and pushing for a promotion. The girl has spent many hours at home each day in her blue body and at the age of eighteeen decides to undergo an operation to have her brain transplanted into the other body, permanently making herself half-Na'vi.
The technicians have held back information about the alterations to keep their paychecks coming steadily, as they weren't completely successful in making all the changes. The body hit puberty very early, making the gender changes that were being done last not fully effective as the blue form refused to rid itself of the male genitalia, instead drawing is up inside as the new female sexual organs developed.
It has only been a week since the operation, all scars have been healed and there are no complications evident. The girl gets some strange looks as she returns to work, many of them a little inviting as she towers over her coworkers at just over ten feet tall. She is completely unaware of her dual-gender nature.
The techs privately working for the girl have been re-hired into the company, evidence of their talent and dedication walking around the offices daily gets them some attention and a small amount of fame. They are put to work creating custom body modifications for wealthy clients.
In the month following, murder is commited somewhere in the city, witnesses report only seeing a very tall blue-skinned individual fleeing the scene in the dark. The girl is immediately suspected as she is the only person to officially be in possesion of such a body.

I'd like some ideas/creative criticism to help put together a very detailed and in-depth tale. I'm also open to writing partners or just suggestions and all credit will be given where it is due. Obviously the story will include sex, what kind and how often I haven't quite decided yet.
