Having been here over 5 years now, it is about time I had my own thread, or so I am being told.
So, here goes.

Hopefully it will be a fun place, with lots of smiling and playing, also hopefully, my friends will drop by too.

As some of you are aware, my wife and I spent last week in Vegas on vacation. I took 300 plus photos, a few of which I will post here, by request I might add.
Obviously I will be preserving our anonymity, which will be easy, as I take the photos, rather than pose for them. :)

So my friends, even if you dont know me, please feel free to drop by and say hello.
Blue :) :rose:

Vegas, 19 to 26 March 2006.

The first photos were taken in the Habitat at the Flamingo Hilton, a beautiful hotel by the way.
The flamingoes are gorgeous, and the South African penguins are as cute as any that I have ever seen.

First pic is Koi carp at Flamingo, followed by the turles, then another penguin shot, and after that a waterfall.
Final pic is a view of dolphin statues in the gardens of the Mirage.

Just a week, the same as last year, but this time we stayed at the Imperial Palace, mainly because of its central position on the strip.

Oh that's awesome. The last time we were there we stayed at the Luxor. Do you make Vegas a yearly trek?

Eruption of the Mirage volcano, with the Venetian as a background.

We stayed at the Luxor, this very week last year, sadly we wont be going next year. In fact we will probably wait about 5 years.
The journey home over the Atlantic is a killer, we left Vegas 1.30 pm Sunday, because of 9 hour time differnce, we arrived home at 9 am Monday , so Sunday was just lost on us, and still having trouble adjusting, jet lag I suppose.

A taxi driver said that in October, they are "blowing away", the New Frontier, The Stardust, and the Imperial Palace, all to be replaced with now places. He also said Donald Trump has some land there, near the Stratosphere, and is going to build a tower also.

Yes, BD, I know what you mean by the jet lag LOL. Whenever I flew home from Europe, I found the lag was worse from flying west as opposed to flying east. But at least I gained a day.

It's amazing how they just "blow" the old classic hotels to make room for the ultra mega ones, isn't it. I'm not surprised that Trump will be building there too. What I am surprised at is that he waited so long. Musta been because of the new son. LOL

I know what you mean about replacing the old with new. That is one thing we both like about the Americans, not afraid to do anything, nothing is too big. And we truly love Vegas, it is a fabulous city, and the people there are wonderful. Me and the lady in room service were on first name terms by the end of the week, she was so nice, it got to the stage where she knew my voice as soon as I spoke, and exactly what our breakfast order was.
My wife got lucky again, played a slot on the Thursday night, dropped 150 dollars. But I did OK on video poker, the table games are not my scene, I just know I would lose a packet there, so I stay away.
We did see the Legends In Concert show at our hotel, and it was great, loved every minute.

Well your week was certainly filled with fun activities. To me, Vegas is a magical city like no other. I do enjoy the table games more than the slots simply because where I live, slots are commonplace, whereas tables are few and far between. I've never seen the Legends In Concert, but heard it was fantastic. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Well, dear heart, I must run for a bit. I have errands to do today before I go back to work on Monday, and get my house ready before it goes up for sale next week. I don't know if peach told you, but I'll be moving to the US soon. I'm looking forward to beginning a new adventure, in this chapter of my life. Be well

Nice place you have here Blue. I'll definetly come back to visit.
